PECULIARITES OF THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE STUDYING FOR ADULT LEARNERS IN THE CONTEXT OF ADAPTATION TO THE WORLD STANDARDS

The problem of the foreign language studing for adult learners in the context of adaptation to the world standards is considered in the article. It has been found that the standards mentioned above are described in Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and National Curriculum for Universities Concerning Studying English for Specific Purposes. The implementation of the standards is required by existing legislative and normative bases. It is identified that there are the following peculiar features of the standards implementation, which are conditioned by the adult learners foreign language studying process. They are: short term studying, different level of English proficiency among students of the same group, considerable volume of individual work, previous student’s experience of the foreign language learning. It is identified that taking into account the peculiarities mentioned above and implementing the proper methods, approaches and forms of studying, which are aimed at European quality demands, allow to increase the level of the foreign language confidence and to motivate students to continue their studying.
