According to the company’s charter “Prosvita” united in certain sections depending on the direction of their work. Thus were created: lecture, library, theater and others. Theater activity was started at the general meeting of March 17, 1906. In this regard was provided the creation of artistic commission which had to organize performances, concerts, literary-music evenings. Members of the community “Prosvita” through the organization of theater, literature-music and children’s parties were trying to convey to the society the idea of Ukrainian culture, the spirit of national pride and raise self-consciousness of every Ukrainian, despite his social status. The initial stage of the theater section of Chernihiv “Prosvita” from 1906 to 1911 shows that during those years were passed a fruitful path, indicated by the ideological and artistic struggle for the formation of national theatrical culture. The second stage of the theater section of “Prosvita” coincided with a wave of revival educational movement in Ukraine in 1917. April 24, 1917 at the first general meeting of the Chernihiv community was decided to resume the activities of all sections of community, including the theater. According to region press, the activities of amateur dramatic group in society was active. Theatric section of “Prosvita” had been working throughout the all Chernihiv region. The second stage of the educational communities affected take off cultural movement in the field of national education of adults. Accordingly, “Prosvita” as an important instrument of education self-consciousness citizen, paid great attention to the activities of dramatic and musical groups. Theatеr amateur activity became one of the most common and important areas of “Prosvita”.

The article considers a range of issues related to the characteristics of the formation and development of Latin literature in Italy in the early Middle Ages. Selected issues-oriented analysis and coverage of literary tradition during the VI-X centuries. In addition, this article is characterized by a number of the most prominent contemporary writers, theologians and historians, among which the first mentioned Pope Gregory the Great, langobard historian and poet Paul the Deacon, writer and philosopher Kassyodor, Spanish theologian St. Isidore of Seville, Frankish historian St. Gregory of Tours, Anglo-Saxon historian and writer Beda Honourable, poet, philosopher and translator Alcuin. Analyzed literary heritage of Rabanne Moor, Radhera Verona, Vidukynd Korvey also. It is considered also the works of Hrotsvit Handersheymskiy, Otloh Emmeramskiy, Ansell Scholastica, Lamperat Hersfeldskiy, Anastasiy Librarian, Liutprand Cremon. Simultaneously, the article highlights literary achievements of Carolingian Renaissance era, the activities of Aachen “Academy” in the Frankish kings and emperors Charlemagne, aesthetic and genre priorities in the literature Ottonivskoho revival. Research attention is also given of the early medieval scribes in the preservation and transmission of subsequent centuries heritage of ancient learning, literary exchange between Byzantium, Italy and France, didactic, hagiographic and epistolographics works written in Latin.

The article, based on the memoirs of K.Sokolov, immigrant and modern Russian historiography, examines the attempt of Sumy hussars to free the family of the Emperor Nicholas II in December 1917 - February 1918. The author points out why Sumy Hussars performed this task. The author has also analyzed the circumstances and situation under which the decision about the importance of this event was made. The circumstances of the realization of a plan to liberate the imperial family have also been analyzed. In November - December 1917, the number of officers from Sumy Hussars left the front which had almost collapsed. They were sent to Moscow, where staff captain K.Sokolov entered one of the monarchist organizations. In mid- December 1917 he was summoned by the leader of the organization Polyansky. The meeting adopted a resolution to free the emperor family with the help of Sumy hussars. On January 6, 1918 the unit consisting of four persons - K.Sokolov, D.Holovin, Moravsky and Raevsky went to Tobolsk. Their aim was to surveillance and come in contact with local monarchists. But in January - February 1918 hussars were twice arrested on suspicion of the monastery. And they were sent out of the town. Those events ended the plan the release of Emperor Nicholas II and his family. Lack of money, unsatisfactory preparation in Tobolsk, Bolsheviks’ victory in Troitsk, unorganized work of the monarchist organizations prevented the release of the Emperor family. In general, this research work has studied the role of this activity among similar ones.It should be noted that Sumy hussars put into practice the plan of the Emperor’s family releasing while other monarchist organizations and groups considered the attemps of its releasing only theoretically. Their main aim was providing the financial support of the family during the arrest. Despite the fact that the Tsar and his family were not released, we believe that the officers of Sumy Hussars led by K.Sokolov fulfilled their task in full. They were sent to Tobolsk with specific purpose - to monitor and come in contact with local monarchists. This task was fulfilled by the officers. The rest depended on the management of the organization.

Germany was one of whose countries where during the Interwar Years not only political but also great intellectual Ukrainian forces were concentrated. A lot of Ukrainian scientists, cultural figures and students stayed there. While the 1920s-1930s Ukrainian students attended many Germany high schools such as Frederick William University of Berlin, the High Technical School in Berlin, the High Commercial School in Berlin, the High Agricultural School in Berlin, the High School of Veterinary Medicine in Berlin, the High Technical School in Danzig, the University of Kцnigsberg, the University of Gцttingen, the University of Kiel, Leipzig University, the University of Tьbingen etc. In most universities, where Ukrainians studied, Ukrainian student centers were organized and functioned actively, for example, the Union of Ukrainian Students Osnova and the Society of Ukrainian Students Chornomore in Danzig, the Club of Ukrainian Students at the University of Berlin, the Association of Ukrainian Students in Germany in Berlin, the Union Osnova in Berlin, the Association of Agronomists, Foresters and Veterinarians in Germany in Berlin, the Committee of Ukrainian Students from the Green Wedge in Berlin, the Union of Ukrainian Students at the University of Kцnigsberg etc. In the 1920s Ukrainian student organizations in Germany were united in the Ukrainian Union of Student Organizations in Germany (later the Ukrainian Union of Student Organizations in Germany and the Free City Danzig), which, in its turn, was included to the Central Union of Ukrainian Students in Prague. On the 9-10th of August 1924th the 1st Congress of Ukrainian Students in Germany and the Free City Danzig took place in Berlin, during which the Centre of Ukrainian Student Organizations in Germany was founded. The Centre included such organizations as the Union of Ukrainian Students Osnova in Danzig, the Association of Ukrainian Students in Germany, the Committee of Ukrainian Students from the Green Wedge in Europe, the Union Osnova in Berlin, the Association of Ukrainian Agronomists, Foresters and Veterinarians in Germany in Berlin and the Union of Ukrainian Students at the University of Kцnigsberg. On a par with Berlin, Danzig with its High Technical School was one of the most powerful Ukrainian student centers during the Interwar Years. The High Technical School was founded in 1904th as Kaiser Wilhelm II Technische Hochschule Danzig. In 1904th-1918th it was named Kцnigliche Technische Hochschule zu Danzig, in 1918th-1921th - Technische Hochschule in Danzig, in 1921th- 1939th - Technische Hochschule der Freien Stadt Danzig, in 1939th-1941th - Technische Hochschule Danzig, in 1941th-1945th - Reichshochschule Danzig, from 1945th - Politechnika Gdaсska. The first Ukrainian students appeared in Danzig in 1921th. From 1922th Ukrainians had been arrived in a large number. During 1921th-1945th over 200 Ukrainians studied in the High Technical School in Danzig. Finally, 140 persons got engineer’s degree and 4 persons got Ph.D. Most Ukrainians studied on the faculties of civil building, mechanical and electrical engineering, shipbuilding and on the chemical one. In Danzig, Ukrainian students united into the Union of Ukrainian Students Osnova in the High Technical School in Danzig. The Union started to work on the 15th of October 1922th and had been working since 1945th. In Danzig were also such Ukrainian student organizations as the Corporation Chornomore, the Corporation Halych, the Corporations Zarevo and Smoloskyp, the Cooperative of Ukrainian Technicians, the Ivan Franko Society, the Dragomanov Community, the Club of Native School, the Sport Club, the Singing Club Surma, the Club of Iron Spurs, the Club Dnipro, the Club of Scientific Terminology and others. Some of them were members of Osnova. The main goal of the Union of Ukrainian Students Osnova in the High Technical School in the Free City Danzig was to represent the interests of Ukrainian students before the Senate of High Technical School and local civil administration, «to promote Ukrainian students and their matter in relations with German and foreign communities, to represent student center before Ukrainian society, to propagandize Ukrainian matter in foreign world, to create the institutional framework for internal activity and to give material backing to members». In Appendixes to the article the documents, which enlighten the activity of Union of Ukrainian Students Osnova in the High Technical School in Danzig in 1920s, are represented. These documents are keeping in the Central State Archive of Supreme Bodies of Power and Government of Ukraine in the fund 4390 ‘The Ukrainian Union of Student Organizations in Germany (August 1924th - January 1925th) and the Ukrainian Union of Student Organizations in Germany and the Free City Danzig (since February 1925th).

Few people other than professional researchers know that the summer 1942 in Kiev command “Start” was played not one, but ten matches... The first shot of the occupied Kiev players reported war correspondent newspaper “Izvestia” Eugene Krieger. It is in the article “So auei in Kiev ...” November 16, 1943 described the life of Kiev with Germans from eyewitnesses Dmitry Orlov. Devoted a few lines shot players. As a result, research revealed that the first time the phrase “death match” appeared in Kiev newspaper “Stalynskoe tribe”. It was printed kinopovest O. Borschahovskoho “Death Match”. Basics future legend of “death match” were laid immediately after the liberation of Kyiv from Nazi invaders. The first reports of the game “start” written on the basis of transfer of witnesses and without the use of sources, and therefore they have no historical significance. Some researchers believe that all those who wrote about the “death match” knew the truth but did not want her to write. In the 50”s - 60”s of the twentieth century first heard the name of the opposing team “startivtsiv”. A writer A. Kuznetsov even the first time he questioned the myth of “death match”. Since the late 90s were published sources that talk about the match command “Start”. Eventually it was counted and the number of matches found game scores debunked many of the legends associated with “startivtsyamy”. However, at present there is fairly complete edition, which would now collected all the documents and memories.

Investigates history of functioning of “The Regional Studies” magazine in 1993-2012/ On the basis of this historiographical and source base and determine the factors that contributed to the revival of the magazine in 1993. Analyzed documentary heritage and semantic saturation of magazine “The Regional Studies”, the main character, and its problematic materials, authors, and editorial structure. Pointed the role of magazine as a focal center of Ukrainian regional studies, periodic professional center, the priority tasks, realization of projects in the field of protection the monuments and attractions, educational and research activities. Author first introduces the current circulation of documents from the Current Archive of National Union of Country learners, focuses on personalities of publishers, researchers, community leaders and philanthropists whose efforts ensured the journal. Defined the role and place of journal in social and cultural life of country, in a spiritual revival of Ukraine.

The article presents the features of processes of architectural composition and development of cities: Novomyrhorod, Novogeorgiyevsk, Voznesensk, Elisavetgrad Novorossiysk military settlement of the cavalry. Base of research is presented by archival materials in the Central State Historical Archives in Kiev and Odessa Region State Archives. Of the examing of the characteristic of town-building of Novorossiysk military settlement it is possible to see several architectural features of the planning area. In planning of the selected area of the city, its zoning has been expected. For the first time in the practice of building, the project involved the construction of buildings, including a number of administrative, residential and commercial buildings. Regimental and divisional headquarters, commercial buildings, houses of military settlers, were constructed, stone houses were set. Active construction led to the consolidation of the principles of systematic planning facilities. Arrangement of the cities in Novorossiysk military settlement of the cavalry was led by staff architects.

It was analyzed the content and source significance of the documents of the reorganization of museum work on the territory of Ukraine. The analysis of documents of the German civil administration of Reich Commissariat Ukraine allows to conclude the intent for massive fundamental reorganization of museum institutions and for all museum work on the territory of RCU, which was expected to implement in life after the final cessation of hostilities. As a result of the planned reorganization it was to become the almost complete destruction of the existing Museum system of Ukraine, remains of which shall be reduced to the sole European Central Museum of Art as a closed collector of works of European art and system of the regional museums, which shall perform only information and reference function in the interest of the German administration to ensure the effective operation of the relevant region. The first step towards such a reorganization were implemented by German civil administration in 1942-1943, but full reorganization of Museum system of Ukraine did not occurred for a number of reasons which include the lack of the relevant professional personnel in general districts of Reich Commissariat Ukraine and unfavorable for Germany development on the front in 1943. It was analyzed in the article the documents from the archives of the Regional Administration of archives, libraries and museums, that are an important source for the history of museum institutions on the territory of Reich Commissariat Ukraine because they give an idea about the plans of occupation authorities regarding museum system of Ukraine and the measure of their performance.
