The main purpose of this study is to analyze the awareness level of electronic resources and the impact of e-resources in Engineering College library. The Impact of the e-journals is more important for further development of academic institutions. The present study is conducted at four selected engineering colleges in Coimbatore district. The questionnaire was prepared and circulated both UG and PG students to collect data. The total numbers of respondent are 117. The study analyzed that respondents were aware of the e-journals and e-resources very well. From the 117 respondents maximum of 37.61% of respondents were used the e-resources in every day. Maximum of 76.07% of respondents are mentioned that it is very important for their studies. From the type of methods of browsing the e-resources preferred by the user is mentioned that 46.15% of users are using to type the relevant web address. This study recommends the selected engineering colleges have to improve their internet speed and access facilities for better usage of electronic resources.

Walt, he emphasizes on Universal Brotherhood, love, care, compassion, peace, kindness, Universal Democracy which would help in saving and preserving this earth etc. When these poems would be taught to the students in schools and at University level they would become emphatic and would help in making this world a better place to live in by spreading love, peace, joy, care, kindness, compassion, fraternity and heave the feeling of patriotism too. We can say this because the future of the nation is built inside the class-rooms and if students are taught moral values and asked to serve society like by cleaning, helping needy, spending time with orphans, old people in old age home and orphanage and make judicious use of resources, being eco-friendly, they can help in sustainable development along with transforming this world into a paradise.

This study examined the difference between male and female gifted students level in problem-solving related to social problems among gifted students in Saudi Arabia. The research examines the difference between male and female gifted students level in problem-solving related to social problems among gifted students in Saudi Arabia. The discussion in the study is based on the theoretical framework of the Abraham Tennenbaum's Theory. This theory is appropriate for the study because it allows the reader to understand the difference between male and female gifted students level in problem- solving related to social problems. The study respondents consist of 480 gifted students from the province of Jeddah. Forty students were taken from each class; first intermediate class, second intermediate class and third intermediate class from the province of Jeddah. Similarly, forty students were taken from each class; first secondary class, second secondary class and third secondary class from the province of Jeddah. Moreover, 50% (240) of the sample consist of male gifted students and same number likewise 50% (240) of the sample consisted of female gifted students. The questionnaire was the main instruments used in collecting data from the selected gifted students which generated the quantitative data. Different statistical analyses were used in analyzing the collected data. The outcome revealed that there was no significant difference between male and female gifted students regarding solving social problems in Saudi Arabia. The result proved that gender differences do not affect the problem-solving skills related to social problems among gifted student in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, students’ attitude towards solving social problems was not influenced by gender. The suggestion and recommendations based on the study findings would benefit the gifted student’s canters, educational ministry, international and non-governmental organizations in the effort to improve the study learning conditions of gifted students in Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the present paper is to examine Quality of Work Life (QWL) as a determinant of demographic variables among HEI teachers. This research is a Descriptive survey in nature. The sample of 449 HEI teachers from Agra city was selected through proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Teachers Quality of work life (QWL) was accessed through self-constructed Quality of work life scale. The main finding of the study that there is a low level of Quality of Work Life among the HEI teachers and the demographic variables viz., age and designation of HEI teachers have a significant influence on their Quality of work life.It is also evident from this study that QWL in HEI teachers can be improved by the Orientation/Refresher Courses, Faculty Development Programmes, Workshop, Seminar, and Symposium etc. Hence such opportunities should be given to the HEI teachers for their up gradation, methods, strategies, and pedagogy of higher education.

Tea, only because of its unique ability to twist our mood and make us feel refreshed, in the world, it has become the second most consumed beverage, next to water, leaving behind coffee, soda, and others. On the other hand, if we talk about India, India has become the second largest tea producer and fourth largest tea exporter in the world. According to the latest report, published in 2017, by the Tea Board of India, India's tea production in 2016-17 reached 1,250.49 million kilograms -- an increase of 1.41 per cent over the figure of the previous year on account of higher production rate in Assam and West Bengal. But unfortunately, to whom the credit should go for this huge production, the workers, are still being severely afflicted by the master class even after 69 years of independence. In this present circumstances, the paper is a deliberate attempt to explore whether giving greater emphasis on Health, Safety, Welfare measures really leads to better productivity of the tea workers of proprietorship gardens in Terai region of West Bengal and also the paper is intended to give some suggestions regarding effective measures that should be considered to improve the productivity of the tea workers.

The wives of the Maratha Sardars bear a silent testimony to it. They are unimportant and second-grade creatures therefore, they are nameless. Gauri’s mother belongs to the same rank. She has given birth to her daughter but exercises no right in her welfare. They all continue to suffer in silence.

Primarily, it was the process of translation that enabled the non-Arab world to understand and assess this valuable content. Translation is a prolific approach that enables to ascertain and discover the efficacy of a literary work. This process is a comprehensive literary tool for socio-cultural understanding and knowledge exposition. The translation, as such, is an offshoot of the literary process enhancing the provisions of understanding a culture and its intellectual advancement. It explores a wide range of discourses and exposes an intellectual culture through artistic and civilizational aspect. In the realm of Islamic Studies translation played a crucial role for dissemination of knowledge across the civilizations. This process exposed Muslim mind and expertise in almost all the areas of the literary, physical and natural sciences. The Muslim intellectuals translated scores of works to Arabic and Persian languages since 9th Century A.D. Consequently, the European scholars also took a lead to translate the works of the Muslim intellectuals from 12th Century A.D in various European languages. This venture involved the studies pertaining to the religious legacies, philosophy, logic, grammar, medicine, history and law. Although, the translation process of the Oriental legacies had already started in Europe, the British Orientalists took it as the strategy to utilize these canonical works for the administrative purposes throughout the Asiatic territories. The persistent need for the translation was felt by the British Empire during its colonial rule in India during the 17th century A.D. Consequently, with the establishment of the Fort William College at Calcutta (10 July 1800 A.D), the British commissioned the translation process for the Oriental Studies in a much-organized manner. This attempt opened a fresh chapter of intellectual discourse besides serving the colonial aspirations. The Islamic classical tradition, including the works on jurisprudence and law, were explored by the British experts to gain pursuit of excellence by way of translation and exposition, which, indeed, is substantiated by Charles Hamilton’s involvement and absorption in the translation of al-Hidayah.

In the Victorian society, women were treated as second sex. They became the victim of patriarchal hegemony. Patriarchy is a social system in which males hold primary power and predominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege and control of the property. Feminism is a range of political movements, ideologies, and social movements that share a common goal: to define, establish and achieve political, economic, personal, and social equality of sexes. This includes seeking to establish educational and professional opportunities for women that are equal to those for men. The main aim of feminism is to deny the fact where male controls the female.To bring equal status between the male and the female, we need a transformation in both the genders. Gender is a socially constructed definition of women and men. It is not the same as sex (biological characteristics of women and men) and it is not the same as women. Gender is determined by the conception of tasks, functions, and roles attributed to women and men in society and in public and private life. The male has to reduce repression, maltreatment, wife – selling, wife – beating, sexual harassment towards women.

Crop combination is one of the methods of agricultural regionalization useful for analysis of agricultural practices and planning at micro level such as in Sina river basin. In the present research paper, an attempt has been made to delineate crop combination regions in Sina river basin of Maharashtra by applying Rafiullah’s maximum positive deviation method. River Sina is a major left bank tributary of Bhima river of Krishna basin. Differential crop combination regions and changes in it are the results of difference in soil fertility, irrigation facilities made available and also of farmer’s changing trend towards taking different crops in a season from the same piece of field.

Greece and India have been the two pioneers of western and eastern cultures individually from the dawn of human civilization. Greek and Indian cultures are like cousins and western and eastern cultures are vastly considered as only the syntheses of these two nations’ cultures respectively. Although a significant negative correlation between education and equity has been claimed by some empirical sociological studies, still education, on the one hand, is largely regarded as the key to strong democratic scenario and socio-economic upliftment and on the other, as a weapon to tackle exploitation, unemployment, poverty and ignorance (U. S. Department of Education, 2013). And it is evident that elementary education poses just as a basic foundation of a learning society and attaining a universal elementary education is yet far from reality in all the continents. But, in reality, there are disparities in educational equity or opportunities which give rise to a gap in educational excellence or achievement (Ministry of Human Resource Development, India, 2014). Thus, if education is not catered to each and every child, it in turn, leads to monetary loss and ultimately grave economic crisis (UNESCO, 2017). The chief objectives of this paper are to examine the existing factors hindering equity and excellence in Greek and Indian elementary education systems with a special reference of historical backdrops to compare these two and to improvise some creative and prospective way-outs to establish elementary educational opportunities and achievements for these two nations.

So, teachers are more vigilant to handle these differentially abled children. A very big problem that every school faces is the difficulty to deal with the slow learners. It is a challenging task for the teachers to tackle slow learners and to make them learn the academic subjects. These students do not fall into the category of special education, do well outside the classroom and show no evidence of having a medical problem. They simply do not do well in school or a particular subject. In the day before formal schooling these students would carry on productive lives working and doing tasks that did not require extensive reading, writing or math operations. However, today the emphasis is less on occupational learning and more on academic preparation. Thus, there is a growing need for help to remediate these students to provide them the best possible opportunities in a changing world. Life skills may include emotional skills, coping skills, health and hygiene skills and communication skills etc. It’s beneficial as it makes students better members of the society. This enables them not only solve problems but also to think creatively. Having life skills knowledge enable slow learners to relate well with others in a friendly manner. It also influences academic performance as they are able to become judgmental. Life skills education in schools enables slow learners to be confident in solving day to day problems and fosters creativity, thus improving academic performance The present study is intended to explore the possibility of life skill training programmes to enhance the academic performance of the slow learners.

Costume is one of the most important symbolic components of the wedding. Indian wedding dresses reveal the richness and diversity of Indian tradition and culture. Varying from sarees in Hindu marriages, to salwar suits in Punjabi marriages, to lehenga- choli in Gujarati and Rajasthani marriages, to gharara/sharara in Muslim marriages and to Gowns in Christian Weddings, one can see a variety in the ways in which an Indian bride gets dressed. An attempt was made to find out various factors that have influenced selection of bridal costume. A sample of 450 respondents was selected for survey in Muzaffarnagar and nearby villages. Data was collected Through interview schedule. Significant association between preference for bridal dress and age, locale and education of respondents was found.

The term drama refers to a literary genre consisting of texts written for both readings as well as staging in the theatre. The Canadian drama consisting of a range of forms is shaped by the Canadian colonial experience, various social, cultural and political forces, the rise of nationalism etc., which are generally taken to affect the arts and literature. The 19th century saw the emergence of closet drama in Canadian literature. At the end of this century, the poetic dramatists started using indigenous subjects. After WWI, Canadian one-act plays gained prominence as the predominant form of the time. In the 1960s and 1970s, the playwrights like John Coulter, James Reaney, George Ryga, Beverley Simons, influence the Canadian play writings greatly. In the early 1960s, George Ryga became a public figure with his first play ‘Indian'. The present research aims to unveil the cultural differences the characters encounter, several racial encounters which result in racial despair and racial discrimination in the lives of the native Indians of the play Indian. This study also analyses the themes of segregation and alienation of the working-class native Indians, the problem of belonging the characters face in Indian. Besides, this paper will highlight the aspects of subjugation of the ethnic minorities, the plight of the Indians, various modes of resistances the oppressed class laborers raise in the play Indian.

Financial leverage refers to the use of debt capital in the total capital structure of a business concern. This study examined the relationship between financial leverage and profitability in Indian Steel Industry. Two leading steel manufacturing companies- Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Tata Steel Limited- were selected for the study purpose. This study used secondary sources of information such as Annual Reports of selected companies. It was found in this study that there was a highly negative correlation between financial leverage and profitability in Indian Steel Industry. Hence, Indian Steel Industry needs to reduce its debt capital in order to increase its profitability.

The Norwegian playwright, Henrik Ibsen, portrays the difficulty of maintaining an individual personality of bourgeois culture in his play A Doll’s House, published in 1879. A Doll’s House is a three-act play which premiered at the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen, Denmark on 21 December 1879. It aroused a great sensation at that time. It shaped a storm of fuming disagreement that went ahead of theatre and immersed the world of newspapers and society. Even after more than hundred years of Ibsen’s death, the play is still pertinent to our society and is still being bespoke by filmmakers. It has been the most dramatic play in the year 2006, and the play has been made into a film at least eight times. The newest revision has Ben Kingsley, Julian Sands, Jena Malone and Michele Martin for the lead roles. The exceedingly actuality is that the play is still being made into movies and still being effectively staged; shows that as far as woman’s fortune in society is alarmed; nothing has really altered. Woman of today, still face the same dilemmas and the same challenges that they faced in the nineteenth century.

The economic liberalization of the early nineties, coupled with deregulation of exchange rates in 1993, facilitated the introduction of interest rate, and foreign exchange derivatives in India. Foreign exchange derivatives are used by firms to alleviate foreign exchange exposures. The foreign exchange exposures arising due to the uncertainty about exchange rates may have significant effects on the earnings of the firms. The use of derivatives is still highly regulated in India due to partial convertibility of rupee. Presently, forwards, swaps, futures and options in foreign exchange are available in India. This paper attempts to study the strategic uses of foreign exchange derivatives by Reliance Industries Limited to manage its foreign exchange exposures. The motivation for this study came from first, the global financial crisis of 2008 which caused huge losses to companies owing to volatility in exchange rates of currencies and second, comparatively low and narrow use of foreign exchange derivatives by Indian corporate firms in India. The literature on foreign exchange exposure management practices of the firms shows the reduction of foreign exchange exposure with the use of tools for managing the exposures. The paper finds that Reliance Industries Limited seems successful in managing foreign exchange exposure. The precise prediction of the foreign exchange rate plays a very significant role in successfully managing the foreign exchange exposure of a firm. It appears that the firm has been successful on this front, in addition to a suitable mix of derivative instruments in its foreign exposure management strategy.

The rapid expansion and new breakthroughs in the arena of development have taken humankind into a new age. The development process has, on the one hand, eased out human life, but on the other, has imposed suffering on a few sections of society. One of the greatest costs of the development process has been the involuntary displacement of millions of vulnerable people. Development brings with it not just physical displacement and relocation but also reduces the quality of life of the affected to sub-human conditions affecting their lives in entirety. The Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 directs acquisition of land and frames the procedures to be followed for granting compensation, rehabilitation, and resettlement to the persons affected or displaced due to development. Scudder-Colson points out that relocation, voluntary or involuntary, induces an experience of stress. Community members facing transition responded in familiar and broadly similar manner because the pressure of relocation limits the coping mechanism of the affected people. Even though the government provides comfortable rehabilitation to the affected population, very little attention is paid to the psycho-social consequences associated with the process. The paper is based on the primary study conducted on the people displaced due to Jaipur Metro Project. It studies how forced shift affects the adjustment of diverse socio-economic population and analyses the changes in lifestyle, social network, community bonds and family relations during the period of transition.

He asked them to build Stupas and write his message on it and the message should be dug deeply on it so that it can show how much he is hurt due to war. The coming future generations can read about the deadly Kalinga war and that they should learn from it not to repeat it ever because there is no use of war it’s futile. As he had only conquered outside and the consequences were that he found widows wailing and children became orphans as well as there was a river of blood flowing between him and the common masses. Then he realized that one should conquer himself instead of conquering outside.

Identified in the category of semi arid regions of West Bengal, the district of Purulia suffers from acute water crisis irrespective of seasons. Rainwater Harvesting Structures are being constructed under the Integrated Watershed Development Programme (IWMP) to address the problem of water scarcity. The paper attempts to focus on the prevailing water use practices in the regions and tries to examine the general perceptions and attitude of the people about environment and eventually assess the determinants of willingness to pay (WTP) towards sustainable water supply through Rainwater Harvesting technology in the region. The paper is based on primary survey carried out in 6 blocks (Baghmundi, Balarampur, Arsha, Barabazar, Joypur & Jhalda 1) of the district. A sample of 540 households was surveyed using multistage sampling method. Descriptive statistics and a logistic regression model were applied to explain household preferences for improved domestic water supply and derive estimates of WTP for such a service. The estimates show that the factors that influence willingness to pay for improved sustainable water supply include main source of domestic water used by the household, distance and average time taken to fetch water from the rainwater harvesting water source, education level of the household’s head and the general perception or attitude towards environment conservation practices. The results confirm that household average income has a positive and statistically significant impact on WTP. The estimates of WTP obtained in this study indicate the possibility of introducing awareness cum demand driven program to expand the coverage of rainwater harvesting water schemes.

Ecotourism in recent times has become very relevant globally as one of the sources for income generation. However, though its strategies are tailored towards sustainable use of natural resources with little or no impact on the environment, protected area managers always encounter challenges that lead to the degradation of the environment. This study therefore, assessed the impact of ecotourism development in Oban Division of Cross River National Park. Primary and secondary data were used for this study. The sample size was 1% of the estimated population in each community. Therefore 53, 28, 35 and 14 questionnaires were administered in Obung, Aking, Nisan, and Orem communities respectively giving rise to a total sample size of 130. Also, 20 separate questionnaires were administered to the staffs of the park.The results were analyzed using descriptively. The results indicated that the community was fully aware of the presence and activities of the park (100%). Majority of the respondents (67.69%) were in support of the Park’s benefitsharing programme a situation that was supposed to encourage the communities to support the park and its programmes. The community’s participation in tourism development was (69%) while participation in at policy implementation (10%) and policy formulation (7%) was less impressive. Funding was a major challenge as general allocations to the park were below proposed estimates submitted by the park. It was therefore recommended that adequate funds be made available to the park for effective execution of park projects.

5S is a structure for organizing the workplace in order to perform the work efficiently, effectively, and safely. This is a method or a system of putting the right thing at theright place for identification on the right time for usage. It belongs to keeping the workplace clean to identify the faults at ease. 5S encompasses of the words derived from Japan: Seiri (categorize), Seiton (set in order), Seiso (shine or clean), Seiketsu (standardize), and Shitsuke (sustain). Every organization is it manufacturing, banking, It or academic, employees form the most important aspect as their efficiency level leads to the efficiency of the organization. Lot of work has been done to identify ways and means to improve the efficiency at the workplace. This paper aims at studying one such method that is 5S methodology as a tool to improve efficiency at the workplace. The study is done in the banking sector, specifically the private sector banks of Nagpur city. The results conclude that the overall average utilization of this methodology is 73% in the banks.
