Karl Jaspers did not belong to any philosophical school when he took up his chair of Philosophy in Heidelberg. He was a doctor of medicine and the founder of psychopathology as a scientific field. He developed a kind of appropriation of the existential substance found in the great philosophers, out of which he constructed his own doctrine, periechontology, as an antidote to all and any forms of reductionism and dogmatism. Existential contemplation and communication became the foundations on which a philosophical lifestyle was to be built, the aim of which was to reach one’s own philosophical faith. This article is intended to demonstrate how the existential appropriation of philosophy can contribute to helping any individual to confidently acquire a philosophical faith, and thereby, helpimg to form human beings in an age in which insecurity is rife.

This article discusses the educational policy relating to the nine years of elementary education, through the discourses of pedagogical coordinators, teachers and principals who work in public schools in the municipal teaching system of a municipality located within the State of Paraná. The instrument used for data collection was semi- structured interviews. The procedure for the treatment of the data was inspired by the methodology of Collective Subject Discourse. The discourses of the interviewees showed that ensuring all children have access to compulsory education is a breakthrough for our society. However, the implementation of such a policy requires that schools have a physical structure with the space and time suitable for conveying the educational process that meets the singular needs of a child in the first year of the nine years of elementary education.

This study aims to analyze the concept of criticism of Paulo Freire, c emphasizing the formative role of the dialogue and the problematization. The o methodology is based on bibliographic research centered on the analysis of the concept of criticism, dialogue and questioning. As a result, it is emphasizedthe understanding of criticism as incompleteness of man, questioning capacity, dialogue and democratic praxis that raises awareness, liberates, humanizes the people and transforms the world. The main aspects of criticality analyzed are related to epistemology, ethics, politics and education. These aspects of criticity are essential to a philosophical education focused on generating themes from the existential experience that contribute to significant and transformative pronunciation of the word.

The aim of this study is to analyze the process of revalidation of the higher education titles; more specifically, it is intended to show some characteristics of the Pilot Project of Revalidation of Diploma for Physicians, obtained abroad and implemented by MEC/MS. This topic is justified by the importance that the government attributes to higher education, mainly in the context of the supranational blocks, like the Bologna Process and the Mercosul. The adopted methodology was the qualitative approach, having as its strategy the analysis of documents. Based on the raised data, it was possible to infer that despite the government initiatives to promote the revalidation of the diplomas by means of projects and exams of their own, there are still some collisions and tensions in the process. The present tensions explicit the lack of a quality conception in order to form physicians, especially in the context of the countries that form the Mercosul, since most of the enrolled students como from institutions from these countries.

This study is the result of the research project: School management and school council: what is this relationship? An analysis of community participation experiences from school councils in Sorocaba – SP, Brazil. As a starting point, it could be identified the relationship between school and community from the school councils. The main goals of this research were to map community involvement experiences at school from the school counciland to analyze and reveal the power of this collective experience. It is a qualitative research focused on cartographic approach. As a result, various mobilizing devices are pointed, as well as the potential for new forms of school- community cooperation. This research was supported by MCTI/CNPq/MEC/Capes and is bound to the research group Community Education and Social Movements UFSCar –Sorocabacampus.

The aim of this paper is to contribute to the articulation of the concepts of cognition and life in educational practice, through the concept of experience. The theoretical corpus includes philosophical, psychological, biological, physical and neuroscientific basis, until rooting it in the concrete practice. Our ontoepistemological perspective is based on doing historical tour about the split of the concepts of doxa and episteme in the field of philosophy. Subsequently, it was developed the concept of experience. The relevance of this development is showed, as well as its scientific underpinnins, to propose an educational biocentric perspective, where the integration between knowledge and life is recovered. Finally it is presented the research results, from the setting in motion of this approach.

The paper presents research data that monitored the scope of the national service goal for Early Childhood Education in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, considering the provisions of the National Education Plan 2001-2010. The methodology of the study involved analysis of some census, demographic and educational data from 2006-2012 period and documentary analysis of the “X-rays of early childhood education” prepared by the State Court of Auditors (TCE/ RS, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 ). The expansion of service to the age of early childhood education in the state grew in the analyzed period, reaching 25.46% in 2012 in the attendance percentage for the child care, and 67.84% for the pre-school. Data analysis design challenges for this state in relation to the decade 2014-2024, term of the new National Education Plan for achieving the expected percentage for both age groups.

This article presents results of the master’s research entitled Partnerships between the public and the private in the provision of early childhood education in medium- sized municipalities of São Paulo, whose main objective was to analyze the different institutional arrangements signed between the municipal government and private institutions to the educational provision of early childhood education in the whole medium-sized municipalities of São Paulo (50001-100000 inhab.). This study is part of research carried out by the Studies and Research in Educational Policy Group. Within the data collection process, the telephone contacts were the main strategy to access the municipalities. The results indicate that the treatment of early childhood education through partnership with the private sector is a kind of “exit” to meet the high demand. Thus, their long-term effects for those advocating an imminently public education are worrying, which cannot go unnoticed to the new National Education Plan.

Dropout is a complex phenomenon that occurs in public and private spaces. This study shows a profile of the students who drop out of higher technological education in a federal university in southern Brazil, the reasons for withdrawal from graduate school, and alternatives of permanence. We did a literature review reading papers in Qualis periodicals, we also performed interviews with dropout students via email using Lime Survey software. The study shows that men drop out more than women, 66.67%, aged between 20 and 29. The most common reason is exchanging course at the Higher Education Institution (HEI), followed by admission into another HEI. The feeling of loss lead to greater commitment by the University: actually perform what is prescribed in the pedagogical projects of its courses. Dialogue is essential to keep the student from giving up: creating virtual network relationships, psychopedagogic actions, greater curricular f lexibility, and scholarships. The sense of belonging should be encouraged in the Brazilian Higher Education.

This paper is guided by a study conducted in the context of the stricto sensu graduate courses, conducted in an investigative scenario involving the program Professional Masters Course in Mathematics on National Network (PROFMAT). The program meets the Target 16 of the National Education Plan (PNE), which places as one of the national objectives for the period from 2014 to 2024 to train fifty percent of teachers of basic education in lato sensu and stricto sensu graduate and ensure to all ongoing education in their area. The analytical theoretical framework refers to the concepts of the new modes of knowledge production, called Mode 2, considering that there is alignment with the nature of the professional masters course. It is presented in this way the analysis resulting from the program documentation, whose objective was to identify in which written and published records the statements and the signed commitments ref lect the following Mode 2 principles: applicability principle and heterogeneity principle.

The article intends to perform an analysis of the objectives presented in goal 6 of the new National Education Plan (PNE 2014-2024). This ambitious goal stipulates that, until the end of the Plan, 50% of Brazilian public schools or 25% of the students are registered full-time education. To realize these ref lections, we look back on the theme of expanding the daily school time. Among the possible conclusions reached, it was understood that the education offered in full time does not correspond to only extending the length of stay of students in school or under its responsibility. It also means performing a qualitative leap in educational provision. Furthermore, the demands outlined in goal 6 also need to separate from historical marks of the Brazilian politics after returning to democracy as the non-consolidation of the collaboration regime.

Considering the learning techniques applied most recently, it is important to consider the issue of what is the best way to assess students in a particular discipline. These learning techniques have as scope to provide a better student achievement, considering a process that relies on continuous feedback, i.e. without applying the concept of the intermediate and final exams. Thus, this paper contains a brief description of the main methods of continuous assessment currently implemented, followed by the compilation of some queries made to students after completion of an undergraduate discipline, which applied the continuous assessment technique. These results were obtained through a questionnaire distributed at the last day of class.

The purpose of this article is to analyze how educational policy research has been driven and to identify the theoretical frameworks that guide it. This paper also attempts to identify how and what issues are researched, to explore weaknesses and strengths that characterize the field of research in educational policies in Chile. In the same vein, challenges faced by researchers working on educational policies are discussed. In order to explore the issues above mentioned the study focuses on primary sources, including: reports made by the Ministry of Education and their officials, by international agencies, and distinguished scholars. Evidence allows concluding that the last seven governments have not generated educational policies since 1981 although they have set up different programs and isolated actions (not connected between them), which could be considered as instruments and/or aspects belonging to an invisible policy. This phenomenon happens under the hegemony of the neo liberal agenda imposed by the Pinochet dictatorship which was reinforced by the last six democratic governments. As a result, research on educational policy has been very limited focusing mainly in some issues or parts of what could be considered an educational policy. The presence and prevalence of studies based on the functionalist-positivist paradigm (with broad participation of economists), the use of methodologies and analysis techniques isolated, the invitation to international agencies (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development – OECD and World Bank), and a number of committees integrated by national experts to review and provide policy recommendations, glimpse poverty in the development of the field.

This paper has as main objective to present an analysis of affirmative action in public university while Brazilian public policies targeted to the black population. As such, there is a brief history of affirmative action in Brazil and the reasons for its implementation in high education. This study shows, among other conclusions, the existence of racial inequality between blacks and whites in different social spheres as the main justification. This paper was used as theoretical studies of Guimarães (2003), Gomes (2001) and Silverio (2007). The methodology used is the literature research. It is necessary to say that this work is the result of a ref lection obtained from the Master in Education at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro State (Unirio), entitled The life in the university: a study about everyday life of the black students at UERJ.

This scientific paper is part of the results of a research of the master’s degree in course education, in which he seeks to understand the importance of teaching art in the modality Youngsters and Adults Education. For this paper, the methodology adopted was the educational research literature in line with the experience performed in loco in Youngsters and Adults Education Center in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso state. Through art you can better understand the artistic culture, material and intellectual place and other peoples, but also their lifestyles, traditions, beliefs and values. Teaching the arts can contribute to the development of aesthetic perception and artistic youngster and adult, critical to its formation socio-educational and cultural.

: Over the last few years, in our society, there has been a collection of educational experiences which seek to confirm principles, concepts and practices related to education and the rural school. We have seen, in this context, a multiplication and consolidation of formation experiences through alternation. This expansion of alternation in the rural education has brought the emergence of conceptual and practical diversities that pushes and stimulates theoretical efforts, seeking to achieve a better comprehension about this new model formation. Keeping such purpose, we aim in this article to analyze, in the group of alternation experiences in our society, its educational goals and practices, subsequently to comprehend the challenges and possibilities of this educational offer to the consolidation of education and the rural school. Initially, we present an overview of the current alternation experiences in rural areas, aiming to identify the goals of this kind of pedagogy in different formation possibilities. A common element to the collection of such experiences is the appreciation of the alternation due to the possibilities of such pedagogical strategies for a contextualized education. It is in the exploring of this reinvention perspective and school opening that we find one of the pedagogic potentials for the alternation in the context of rural education.

The aim of this study is to present and analyze how information and communication technologies (TIC) are treated in official documents governing education in Brazil, culminating in the National Education Plan (PNE) in force (2014-2024). For this, it was made a documentary and bibliographic research on education and technologies in the basic education, presenting public policies and concepts developed in this regard. As a result, it is emphasized that in the annex of the law that deals with the PNE (2001-2011), the technologies are mostly related to distance education, while in the annex of the law that deals with the PNE (2014-2024) they are presented in various parts, sometimes related with distance education with assistive technologies and technologies in the school environment. It is noteworthy that both plans recognize and promote the training of teachers for the pedagogical use of technologies in the school environment.

This article aims to describe and analyze the preparation process of the Municipal Education Plan for the city of Uberlândia (MG), in conformity with the forecast of the National Education Plan. It discusses the process of preparing the National Education Plans, contextualizing it historically. The preparation of the Municipal Education Plans has been the great challenge to be faced by the educational policies,in this way, this paper presents some aspects of the preparation of the Plan which is being built in Uberlândia. It emphasizes democratic participation as the possibility of building a plan, indicating the challenges and controversies of a collective elaboration of a Municipal Education Plan.
