"WHETHER IT IS FOR ONE IS FOR EVERYONE!" The potential of a student evidenced by alternative communication with the use of ARASAAC and SCALA software

This paper, is a report that presents the results of the use of SCALA and ARASAAC free web software with Tomás, a
student of a municipal public school in the city of Novo
Hamburgo, state of Rio Grande do Sul / Brazil. Tomás is
egress from a private school that offered little in regard to proposals and learning strategies for students in the inclusion process. This boy comes to school with significantly lower handicap to its power and poor condition of learning, presenting also a well marked limitation in terms of his oral language and comorbidity 'psychic immaturity'. After a period of adjustments and assessments, discussions with parents, teachers, professionals and contact with his previous school, Tomás started the Educational Specialized care with the use of alternative communication in teaching strategies. The SCALA and ARASAAC software were used as pedagogical devices providing learning and development. Resulting in a work focused on alternative communication throughout all of the school, with his colleagues and Family, which brought to him the ability to communicate, to speak, to give his opinion and actively act in environments where he is involved and in which he lives.
