The purpose of this investigational work is to analyze the ethics, and socialization in the public banking. Two categories were developed such as ethics and socialization in public banks, the theoretical basement poses that a society lacking ethics and principles cannot progress in a globalized environment such as the actual one. Also, ethics is the primary social demand, which at a business level; it should be assumed that “noble intentions” are not enough when there are decisions to make in which there are other individual’s decisions to be considered in accordance to the logic of a market guided by mechanisms of free trade and profits. Essentially, the socialization system is the cultural transference that occurs with the social insertion of an individual in a group to convert him in a member of a society by which he would observe the established norms and regulations, as well as the socialization. The present study was developed under the non-experimental, qualitative, descriptive method focusing on the interpretation of the findings, with aims that each employee comply with the norms and procedures of the financial institutions, essentially, that they demonstrate ethical behavior, since this is one the key basis to guaranty the banking socialization project success.

This article becomes the first product for the assessment about the impact of social inclusion policies on differents Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the colombian Caribbean region. And it´s focused in two key aspects, the first one, it is the analysis of the impact of policies aimed to ensure the access and permanence of vulnerable population belong at the seven public university of the colombian Caribbean region; and another hand, the analysis about the supporting awarded to students matriculated among 2005 and 2011, and its impact on desertion rates. The information consulted was the senior and scademics agreement, and also rectoral Resolutions concerning about benefits giving to this population, and the ‘SPADIES’ database. As results it was found that affirmative actions implemented by HEIs, are academics, financial and in another type, benefiting 52.7% of their matriculated students. Finally, for students of social strata 1 and 2 levels, affirmative actions have sought to improve the permanence conditions through financial support.

The country image of Colombia has been discussed in the fields of international business and territorial marketing. Colombia is a country with a positioning associated with drug trafficking and coffee. This situation has led governments in the last decade to define new strategies to help improve Colombia’s reputation in international markets. However, its efforts have been of little impact, because the image of Colombia country still maintains negative due to its historical association. In this sense, this article discusses the results of an investigation on impressions with Mexicans who have visited and have not visited Colombia. Mexico was chosen because it is the second source of tourists to Colombia from North America. Through an empirical study applied to a sample of 190 Mexicans over 18 years, it was found that the positioning remains negative and the country is still associated with drugs, terrorism and insecurity. One contrasting attribute regarding perception that stands out in the study is that Colombia is associated with the friendliness of its people. The study results were obtained at the end of 2013.

The purpose of this paper is to present an analysis of the orientation that is assumed by a university in the Colombian Caribbean region for developing actions in what has been known as “the university’s third mission”. In addition, an analysis about the effect on the university that is generated by the execution of “extension” projects is presented. The used methodological approach was Case Study Research by using an intervention project with regional scope as the unit of analysis. In this context, the used information sources were: documental information about project’s execution, semi structured interviews of project coordinators and a survey on the perception regarding the university’s third mission that was directed to a sample of the university’s professors. The main finding of this study is the identification and characterization of the university’s orientation regarding the third mission, which emphasizes on social development of its environment. Moreover, positive perceptions of the university’s members were identified. Even though this study was limited to a single case in a particular context, the findings permitted to identify characteristics of the materialization of the university’s third mission. These characteristics could be useful as a reference for developing other similar studies in other institutional contexts, in the region and the country, to consolidate deeper reflections on this topic.
