Stochastic Dynamic Programming (SDP) is an important class of optimization which has recently been used in the area of dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP (DASH). Though DASH is very popular method of video delivery in recent years it is plagued with problems when multiple players share a bottleneck link. Thus, this area has become a very active area of research. Two works which implement SDP in DASH are selected and their performances compared against the Conventional DASH player. It is shown that SDP works well for various network conditions.

Nowadays there are serious global problems, among them, the bad air quality in urban zones stands out, and also the lack of healthy food to guarantee quality feeding. According with some information of the United Nations Organization for agriculture and feeding, the global population is expected to increase to reach 8300 millions, and for that reason objectives for the sustainable development were fixed in the 2030 Agenda. In Mexico, the 2013-2018 Development Plan in the goal National IV Mexico Prospero is looking to guarantee the security in feeding, that is why an opportunity area has been identified in which we can set innovations and new technology. The main objective of this project was to develop an Autonomous Urban Garden, which allows to plant and care for different daily consumption foods on the roofs or roofs of houses or buildings through the Arduino platform and various sensors (soil moisture, rain, humidity and temperature), they can convert a large part of the carbon dioxide into oxygen, they will provide food to a family, ensuring that they are consumable since they themselves would be in charge of planting and harvesting.

Visual disability is a condition that affects 285 million people around the world, this sector of the society has a lot of tools for displacement, since a simple white cane that is the first thing that comes to our mind talking about visual disability to some technologic devices that assists them, nevertheless, these devices attack different difficulties, such as the detection of objects in front or the reading of signs in the public thoroughfare. However, there is a difficulty that has not been addressed; the detection of cavities or subsidence in the ground, this section must be taken into account as it can cause very serious accidents and for this reason a device designed to overcome this need is designed.

Abnormal temperature of human body is a natural extensive indicator of illness. Infrared thermography (IRT) is a fast, non-invasive, non-contact and passive substitution to ordinary medical thermometers for monitoring and observation human body temperature. Aside from, IRT is able to chart body surface heat remotely. Last five decades testified a stationary development in thermal imaging cameras utilization to obtain relations between the thermal physiology and surface temperature. IRT has effectively used in diagnosis and detection of breast cancer, diabetes neuropathy and peripheral vascular disorders. It has been employed to detect issues related to gynecology, dermatology, heart, neonatal physiology, and brain imaging. With the advent of modern infrared cameras, data acquisition and processing techniques, it is now possible to have real time high resolution thermographic images, which is likely to surge further research in this field. The emergent technology known as the Internet of Things (IoT) has guided practitioners, physicians and researchers to design innovative solutions in different environments, particularly in medical and healthcare using smart sensors, computer networks and a remote server. This paper aims to propose IoT-enabled medical system enables diagnostics and detection for several medical anomalies remotely; in real-time and simultaneous depend on combination of IoT and Thermal Infrared imaging techniques. It will detect and diagnostics any abnormal and alert the user through IoT remotely and in real-time.

Spam Email messages have a big problem either for users or for the Internet service providers. The content of such messages may contain viruses and bad information. The spam messages also occupy a huge amount of space on the mail boxes. So, the process of Emails' classification is very important to be analyzed and discussed. This research work aims at classifying the email messages into either spam or non-spam. The E-mail messages or a dataset can be represented in a matrix form. The rows of the matrix are representing the instances (messages) while the columns are representing the features of such instances. K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) and Naïve Bayes (NB) are two classifiers where they are used to classify the email messages. The proposed approach based on partitioning the dataset into segment and compared with the adopted approach. Moreover, feature selection methods are adopted to choose the significant features and eliminate the others to avoid processing overheads. The choice of the relevant features plays an important role of the classification accuracy. In this work, some feature selection methods are adopted, analyzed, and operated. The performance of such methods is compared. Moreover, a feature selection method is proposed and discussed. The performance of the proposed feature selection method is compared with the adopted ones. This work is operated on a chosen dataset taken from the Internet. The dataset contains about four-thousand messages with fifty-eight features. Moreover, the dataset is supported with a target feature representing the class labels. From the practical experiments it is shown that the performance of the proposed method is better than the adopted ones. It is also expected that the proposed method is applicable to other datasets for other application domains.

In current days an effective design of WSN has became a leading area of research with the wide application of WSN, data transmission in network becoming a more hot research topic. The biggest challenge is to transmit the data from source to sink node securely. The main disadvantage in WSN is they have limited resources, cluster network have been proposed by many researchers to reduce the energy load & reduces the overhead in the network to increase the network life time. The SLEACH is the modified version of LEACH is a clustering selection method that provides an effective way to minimize the energy utilization along with providing security to the WSN, but still energy efficient for SLEACH is not up to the mark and it doesn’t guarantee confidentiality, availability and secure transmission of data from one end to another end. This paper introduces a lightweight Secure data authentication scheme (LWSDAS) which is based on Elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) to provide integrity, confidentiality, authentication & data aggregation and it is also capable to protect against attacks. The proposed work is more energy efficient over SLEACH. The results of simulation shows that the proposed work is more advantageous than SLEACH, considering parameter like end to end delay ,energy overhead, packet delivery ratio and overall it is up to 7-10% far better than SLEACH algorithm.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) is composed of small sensor nodes which may be hundreds or multi hundreds or thousands in number. Sensor nodes, also known as mote, are small, lightweight and portable devices equipped with a transducer, microcomputer, transceiver, and power source. Based on the network topology, routing protocols in sensor networks can be classified as flat-based routing, hierarchical-based routing and location-based routing. This paper studied some hierarchical-based routing protocols and evaluated these protocols with different cluster head probability in medium network with 200 nodes number. Protocols like Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy (LEACH), Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering (DEEC), Threshold sensitive Energy Efficient sensor Network protocol (TEEN) and Stable Election Protocol (SEP) are used for our comparisons. We evaluate the performance of these protocols for a cluster head probability sensing application. Cluster head Probability effects on throughput, overhead, packet delivery ratio, alive nodes and dead nodes, as parameters used to measure the performance of these protocols. We observed new results and different comparisons for hierarchical protocols in WSN.

Wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of small devices, which are called sensors. It is capable of sensing the environmental events, make processing of them and send data to the base station (BS), which needs high energy for its usage. This network which is limited to iterate the dead nodes, bring by energy depletion and to maximize the life-span of the system. Many routing protocols have been proposed and the efficiency of WSN declines as changing of the parameters of sensor nodes. The protocols in WSN are classified to heterogeneous or homogeneous. In this paper, we test the effects of node density and network area on various distributed energy efficient clustering based on protocols such as Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering (DEEC), Developed Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering (DDEEC) and Threshold Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering (TDEEC) as multilevel heterogeneous protocols, and MODLEACH protocols as an example of homogeneous routing protocols. Threshold Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering protocol has better performance than Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering protocol, Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering protocol and Enhanced Distributed Energy-Efficient Clustering protocol (EDEEC) but Modified Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy protocol (MODLEACH) is lengthy the stable period other than protocols. The sent packet to BS and the received one from BS are increased with increasing of nodes number and decreased with increasing of network area. The life time of network decreases conversely with increasing the area of transmission. These parameters will increase the performance of the entire network. Especially in real-time applications that use the WSNs, which, are expected to work in fields such as industry, rubout or battle tracking.

DDoS attacks in MANETs needs to be handled as early as possible so as to avoid them to reach the victim node. DDoS attacks are difficult to detect due to their features like varying attack intensity, large amount of packets etc. so it becomes necessary to distinguish and filter attack traffic in source or intermediate clusters. Here the cluster heads will uses flow based monitoring schemes to identify the suspicious behaviours of incoming traffic in each clusters. Cluster head constructs flows from the incoming traffic and computes normalized entropy for specific time windows. The normalized entropy is compared against threshold entropy to identify the presence of suspicious flows. Later packet rate of suspicious flow is calculated and compared against packet rate entropy to identify the suspicious flows. Later the suspicious flow information is shared with neighbouring cluster heads to further confirm the presence of DDoS attack or not. If DDoS attack is confirmed the packets related to suspicious flows will be discarded. The efficiency and accuracy of proposed attack detection algorithm is evaluated using some performance metrics.

The primitive goal in Wireless Sensor Network is conserving energy to overcome the constraint of the limited capacity of the battery. Improving network lifetime and reduction of energy consumption are significant factors in the routing protocol design of Wireless Sensor Network. From the view of energy efficiency, it is important to select remaining energy, distance, cluster size, optimal CHs with an area of coverage and intersecting nodes radius. An energy efficiency clustering protocol proposed in this paper which elects effective Cluster Heads with optimal count and active nodes for complete coverage for optimizing the network lifetime with full coverage. The simulation result shows that Intersecting Sensor Range Cluster based Routing Algorithm achieved 21% betterment in network lifetime as compared to present energy saving technique in WSN.

Customer Complaints are considered vital and significant information that can be utilized to attain customers’ satisfaction. Consequently, establishing a complaint handling system is essential towards addressing customer dissatisfaction and preventing similar problems from reoccurring. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the degree of association between customers’ complaint behaviors and their complaints about the goods or services they get. Therefore, the paper proposes a generic approach for the Customer Complaint Management System that can be effective in reducing customers’ complaints through urging customers to participate in controlling the quality of the services or goods offered to them. The "Service" has been used to connect different databases from different platforms to retrieve certain data. The system starts by discussing the service implementation with the web-application interface development. Afterward, the "Service" is used to connect the three main Services used in the proposed e-complaint web service. These services have been explored to obtain the Citizen and Staff data and find out about how they are working. Then, they have been implemented in the web application, each according to the operation that calls the service to restore certain data. Moreover, the most important reports extracted from the evaluation results have also been explored. For implementing the model, a web application has been developed to exhibit both the ability of the model and the efficiency in e-Gov, since that web application could be developed thoroughly. It was supposed that to complete the e-complaint system cycle, there is a need for five modules to implement this cycle; the first module is related to the "Citizen" who wants to fill his/her complaint; the second is the "Admin" who manages the system users; the third is the "Agent" who will handle the Citizen complaints; the fourth is the "Staff" who will analyze the causes and actions of each complaint; and the fifth module is the "Supervisor" who views the overviews reports and takes decisions for improvements.

Routing in wireless sensor network is a key challenge. The appropriate routing is done in wsn by using swarm intelligence approach. Various swarm intelligence techniques are available like ant colony optimization, particle swarm optimization, artificial bee colony optimization etc. But hybrid approach of TABU and PSO is a promising one. The integration of TS to PSO allows algorithm to sustain the population diversity and avoiding directing to misguiding local optima. Average energy consumption is high in TS as comparison with PSO and less calculation time is utilized in TS than PSO. The output of the experiment show that the optimize algorithm not only reduce the number of paths but also finding the shortest path at the place of largest path. The simulation result shows that combination of TABU-PSO performs better than Energy Efficient PSO in terms of dead nodes, alive nodes and throughput of the network.

The Internet of Things (IoT) extends the Internet wherein real world things are part of a computing network. The IoT has seen exponential growth and according to Cisco prediction about 50 billion devices will be connected by 2020. Handling this massive scale is challenging research issue. In this paper, we use cloud-fog-edge based IoT middleware for distributed IoT service provisioning. We model IoT middleware using queueing network, perform analytical analysis of IoT middleware components. Followed by dynamic scaling algorithm which considers contention and coherency as limiting factors for scalability. It is used for quantitative analysis of IoT middleware with the increasing workload. The scalability function was evaluated using the simulation for important performance and scalability parameters namely throughput, CPU utilization and response time. It is observed that because of contention and coherency overhead, the proposed approach is able to scale sub-linearly which is practical compared ideal scalability of multi-server queueing network and not very restrictive as given universal scalability law(USL) applied for tightly coupled systems.

Competition among adaptive video streaming players severely diminishes user-QoE. When players compete at a bottleneck link many do not obtain adequate resources. This imbalance eventually causes ill effects such as screen flickering and video stalling. There have been many attempts in recent years to overcome some of these problems. This work focuses on such a situation. It evaluates current stochastic adaptive video players at a bottleneck link and when the number of players increases. Experimental setup includes the TAPAS player and emulated network conditions. The results show mDASH outperforms x-MDP, sdpDASH and the Conventional players.

The aim of this paper to find best suited filter for given photo detector i.e APD and PIN for the suppression of noise in the proposed optical system. This paper also analysis the effect of SOA for noise reduction in the optical communication system. It is concluded that APD photodiode gives a better Performance in given optical system in comparison with PIN photodiode. Low pass Bessel filter shows the best performance among the other filters at 1310 nm wavelength. Bessel filter provides constant group delay. Eye opening height is more in Bessel filter. It gives minimum Bit error rate in received signal. Semiconductor optical amplifier reduces the noise in optical system. It improves the quality of received signal. It provides lower bit error rate upto 20 km optical fiber.

Conversational real-time applications like VoIP (Voice over IP) and videoconferencing require new challenges in Long-Term Evolution (LTE) networks such as Internet. Quality of video delivered over the Internet has been determined in terms of Quality-of-Service (QoS) and Quality-of-Experience (QoE). QoS includes packet delivery ratio, average end-to-end delay, throughput, routing overhead, etc. QoE is a qualitative measure of videos transmitted over Internet. In this paper, the performance comparison of AODV, OLSR and ZRP are carried out on H.264/MPEG-4 AVC video streaming under both Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) and Enhanced Distributed Coordination Function (EDCF) using NS2.34 and Enhanced EvalVid framework. These protocols have been selected for simulation due to their edges over alternative protocols in numerous aspects.

And to store these videos and to charge cameras we have one docking station. The docking station that can charge camera and also transferred video wirelessly. With the help of wifi , stored video can be directed uploaded On cloud. With the use of mobile application we can directly take audio and video from cloud. In Swarm Intelligence, various techniques are being planned as far as ACO, PSO, Fish Swarm, Bats Swarm, Bacterial Foraging, TABU, GA search and so forth. TS and GA is a single algorithm that firstly creates a set of random valid solutions, and for several iterations it optimizes them using a TS-based method. Afterwards, it takes this set of optimized solutions as the initial population for the GA, and iterates until the adopted stop criteria have been met. The objective of this research paper is to implement TABU-GA search to make the protocol more efficient and effective. This paper proposed MSEEC (multilevel stable and energy efficient clustering protocol) utilizing TABU-GA mechanism in the territory of 200m×200m. The recreation is done under the MATLAB 2013 a environment and observed the performance of TABU-GA MSEEC against MSEEC protocol on 4% increase in the case of first node dead (FND) and 28% increase in the case of last node dead (LND).

Most of the organizations (like Amazon, Ramco, Infosys, IBM etc.) are providing their services through cloud computing. These services may be either IaaS or SaaS or PaaS. Even from technological and financial point of view, it is beneficial and may be seductive for the e-commerce companies as well as the customers. There may be several factors at the level of their security, privacy, cost and quality. During migration to Cloud, the consumers as well as companies faces many technological and legislative issues like Cloud Standards, Legislation and Regulatory Issues of CSPs, Security Issues. The objective of this proposal is to mitigate the raised issues between the cloud service provider and the client side in the cloud migration and to propose their effective solutions.
