La era digital ha llegado a tener tanto impacto en la sociedad actual, que la familia, la escuela, la cultura y el entorno son variables determinantes que influyen en el uso o abuso que la población infantil y adolescente hace de estas tecnologías. Este artículo muestra aquellos estudios que han centrado su interés en analizar el impacto de dispositivos digitales en las relaciones sociales de estos colectivos, ya sea a través de la familia, con los iguales o con el resto de la sociedad. Se concluye que la complejidad en las relaciones interpersonales en la infancia y adolescencia tiene un nuevo añadido: el mundo digital, que produce riesgos y potencialidades, y los consiguientes importantes retos futuros que promueve para padres, gobiernos, administraciones educativas e investigadores.

The study sought to determine the impact of communication technologies in interpersonal relations of students from two universities in the city of Monteria;Colombia. In the sample there were 130 university students. The quantitative approach with a descriptive design research and a survey and data collection technique was used. The study showed that 98.5% of college students have mobile phone and internet as predominant communication technologies; They said their social relations changed through social networks and only a minority prefer face to face communication, the relationship between technology and the presence of symptoms of psychological distress such as anxiety, irritability, despair and stress is also observed.

This paper presents a simulation experience with GeoGebra lived by two average level high school students from Venezuela. Specifically, it describes the way in which students solve the task of representing a phenomenon with the software. During the simulation, the interpretations of being part of a whole, as well as distribution and fractions operator, took place and helped students to create and validate technics to locate characteristic points of the geometrical figures associated with the phenomenon treated. The connection between the different interpretations and other mathematical concepts were also present. Regarding to GeoGebra, it is highlighted the use of the grid as a graphic reference that supported the reflections of the students during the experience.

The purpose of this research study was to compare the level of fluency and pronunciation among students of French at the Universidad del Atlántico before and after the use of the social network Blaving. In order to carry out this comparison, a series of interviews and surveys were administered and an assessment of the students’ pronunciation was made through the recording of their one-minute answers to a question in French and Spanish. In this diagnostic phase, students evidenced both fluency and pronunciation problems in French. These linguistic drawbacks, nonetheless, were considerably reduced with the help of the activities implemented in Blaving. Overall, findings showed an increase in the number of syllables pronounced by the learners in one minute and some improvement in the pronunciation of the target language.

This theoretical article carries through a general view about the teacher situation in Latin America, especifically the early`childhood from which it is pretended to establish a relation between some of the conflicts earlychildhood educators experience and the historical configuration under which they were educated as adults able to think and related to infancy. Epistemological arguments are presented in order to consider alternative ways of constructing knowledge about infancies in contemporary contexts. This qualitative research aimed to know the practices that the teacher performs with children of divorced parents.The information was collected through semi-structured interviews with 30 parents and 15teachers. It was found that secondary school teachers, although they considered that they must refer students to the school guidance department, wanted to execute actions beyond the indicating norm, expressions that do not run for fear of being misunderstood. The preschool and primary school are more affectionate; they are awaiting them.It is important to talk to parents in order to understand the problems that are living inside the child`s home. It is concluded that training of teachers facing this issue is necessary in order to provide greater support to these children.

This paper aims to make a contribution to understanding the process of renewal of Venezuelan education, from the study of the work of one of its main protagonists: Alejandro Fuenmayor. His work, during the first half of the 20th century, was characterized by the following terms: teacher of teachers, pioneer of the paradigm of critical reflective teaching, philosopher of the renewal of education, forger of educational institutions and innovative teaching practice. This is a hermeneutical interpretive perspective of the life and work of a philosopher and pedagogue, in a social historical context of reference. On the issue of academic literacy, there is still debate about who and how to assume this task. As alternative strategies for interdisciplinary work, our interest is on the reading of specialized texts used in mother tongue language courses. The goal is to support learners interested in tools for understanding texts and the conceptual mastery of their discipline. This task requires language teachers to have a basic knowledge of the discipline. Therefore discipline teachers are expected to collaborate to provide key elements to relate reading strategies with specialized concepts of their subject in a joint effort to read to learn. This paper presents an experience to generate interdisciplinary work with discipline teachers. This reflection focuses on the documents used, aimed at designing a methodological sequence for the text, and the results of the classroom intervention.

The assessment of graduate programs is a necessity for adaptation to social and labor demands. The objective was to evaluate the MBA program in Management and Development of Education of the ESCASTO-IPN, through the Soft Systems Methodology (MSS), it provided a comprehensive thinking of the actors involved in the issue, doing CATWOE particular analysis by mnemonic, achieving a comprehensive income based on the PNPC criteria - CONACyT. Three questionnaires were applied validated. A prominent result is the need for training of cadres in areas such as: emotional intelligence, regulation, ethics and transparency. In conclusion, the graduate acquires a new commitment, neglecting the commodification of education and become generator critics, analytical and proactive especially in turn are generating innovations in favor of quality education.

During the last 10 years, ethics has been explored as basis of human structure and its values as the practical way to apply them in everyday life of teaching practices, for that reason, it was necessary to make theoretical reviews, and check research results with the objective addressed to describe systematically how has been the values education in university students under the framework of the scientific review about the ethical formation of teachers formation. This exploration was conducted using digital databases and then compiles the relevant information from scientific research. The results showed that pedagogical practices are the ideal space for the ethics formation, where values are the central axis of college education and require in first measure human formation of professors to achieve the mission objective of any institution that has as foundation the human beings formation toward a rebirth society in planetary consciousness. Thus, professor is the main protagonist in the formation of values and the way how he acts, and how his dedication, motivation, attitude and commitment contributes to be identified as living example to follow by his students.

The concept of World View was proposed by Wilhem Dilthey as part of providing grounds to the “sciences of the spirit”. Later, William Cobern established this concept in the Science Education. This article deals with the World View concept and shows its beginnings, the main characteristics, and its subsequent developments. Particularly, the research presents the basic theoretical assumptions of the World View of Kearney, that Cobern revisited later. Finally, we expose the importance and the implications of the concept for the Science Education.

The objective of this article was to identify if Information Technology and Communications (ICT) are integrated to student in their acquisition of knowledge at public universities in the Bajío (Mexico). A quantitative method was used and was conducted in an exploratory study with a stratified sample of 3403 students in a population of students enrolled in public universities in different degrees. Participated one University in San Luis Potosi, one in Queretaro and another in Guanajuato. The investigation revealed that even when students are digital natives the use given to the tools of Information Technology and Communications (ICT) in the Web 2.0 in education is low, they are only receivers of information but their participation in the knowledge society is scarce. This investigation allows understand the status of the use of technological tools and create strategies that enable students to have greater collaboration in knowledge and are prosumers (who produce and consume information on the web) of the information.

The aim of this research paper is to determine the different learning approaches that predominate in medical students at one university. The research has a mixed approach, a sociocritical paradigm and an observational descriptive approach. It was implemented by carrying out a pedagogic strategy based on a virtual tool which allows to increase the appropriation of knowledge. An instrument for the valuation of learning approaches R-SPQ-2F was used. Quantitative variables were analyzed in STATA 10. It was found that 45 % of the students showed a deep appropriation trend, with 30 % gaining deep memory acquisition; 15 % lack learning skills; and 10 % with a superficial, memory acquisition ability. It was concluded that the majority of students had a deep or deep/memory acquired acquisition ability and that 25% showed a superficial or memory acquired trend.

This article reports the results of a doctoral research from the interpretative approach to intercultural education and social representations obtained from the discursive material of student representatives in the city of Barranquilla, in the Atlantico region (Colombia). This research reveals the aspirational level of freedom of speech as a symbol for auto designating the youngsters. It is a mechanism able to counteract the patriarchal hetero designations existing in school leadership from inequality and male dominance. All these elements contribute to a modern cross-cultural understanding of women’s participation and their implications in school environment and public life.

According to the content view of the study, we realize it has been addressed under a critical analysis. Three educational practices of foreign language teaching (English) and scholar texts in public and private contexts in the city of Bogota were observed to see their relationship with the field of intercultural education. The theoretical approach was the critical perspective of cultural relations and pedagogy, using a qualitative research approach and an ethnographic strategy to explore the process of learning foreign languages as a symbolic space where a cultural mediation is presented. Within their results it was found that in both contexts, in the classroom and in the books, there appear to be elements such as discrimination, subordination and essentialization. However, evidence of teachers’ resistance has to be taken into consideration as well.

The issue of inappropriate use of video games by children and youths is due to the large amount of time spent on this activity and its impact on their social behavior. Withdrawal and time invested in it were relevant indicators identified in the research, after conducting testing socialization Bass, that measuring the disturbing aspects and facilitators of such behavior in parents, teachers and children, led to test for levels of practice and its possible social implications. 15.8 % of children play video games more than 5 hours per week; moreover, there is high withdrawal in 11.8 % of students. Similar research shows that children generally dedicate more than 2 hours a day on television or video games compared with children from Cucuta in Colombia (cucuteños), who devote more than 5 hours per week to this activity, yielding bad use of spare time.

This paper addresses the political ideal of democracy proposed by John Rawls in his book Political Liberalism (1995) and from which standards on what constitutes the public concept of citizenship of such ideal are based. This assumption requires an understanding of how we should conduct ourselves as democratic citizens, which inevitably involves individuals’ awareness on the ideal of public reasoning. The ultimate goal will be to understand that the concept of citizenship according to Rawls reaches all its political dimension to the extent that it contains and expresses the public arena as the key element.

This paper is developed from historical and situational aspects that contextualized the development of non-formal education, known today as education for work and human development, through a historical observation made at “Instituto de Programación y Sistemas del Norte Ltda. (Inprosistemas del Norte)” in Cucuta (Colombia). This reflection was based on data collection and documentary analysis of primary, secondary and tertiary sources, mostly obtained as digital documents; along with reflections and testimonies of key stakeholders in this field, such as the founders of the institution, students and graduates. Inferences on space and time related to this type of education in the region were made, as well as understanding the way its essential conditions and transformation were designed as a new educational model which responded to current needs and projection of skilled workforce.

This study analyzes the conceptions of the term “mole” according to Chemistry teachers in Secondary school in the municipality of Yaracuy Bruzual (School year 2012-2013). The sample is represented by sixty teachers who responded to the survey. The results indicate that most of them have good information regarding atom and atomic weight of an element. With regard to the term “mol”, it was determined that they lack of knowledge on the definition given by Iupac, since its meaning is related to the individual unit of mass, portion of substance and number of particles (Avogadro’s number).
