The recent unfolding of the sub-prime crisis in Greece has shown that this has to last and its implications have many ramifications, some still unclear. The public debt of European countries is at the root of the process, strengthened by a voluntary submission of governments towards the big banks, investment funds and insurers. The debt stems from the low level of tax revenue, weak progressivity of direct fiscal capacity, embodied in the income tax, capital gains of business and tax evasion. The corruption of the government interferes in the process. The article asks why a country with such difficulty was in their accounts between 2005 and 2009 as one of the five largest importers of weapons from Europe. Plus, why the European Central Bank turned a blind eye to arms purchases. Overcoming the crisis will be painful and will hit mostly those who live from paycheck.

The article analyzes the transnational Islamist terrorist organizations operating in Kashmir since 1989, which were formed and sponsored by sections of the Pakistani state, as the main intelligence agency in the country, the ISID - Inter Directorade- Services Intelligence, and the national army. The use of private religious forces in the dispute with India, which lasts for more than six decades (since 1947), attends a strategy for Pakistan's Foreign Policy based in the use of "War by Proxy" as an essential tool for their continued military action in the region. As a way to legitimize its actions in Kashmir, terrorist organizations developed a subversion of the idea of jihad, in which the holy war is posed as the sole duty of every believer of Islam, and secondly, as a way of promoting a religious cleansing against those who are considered enemies, with the objective to destabilize Indian government in the State.

Guyana and Suriname are the newest and least populated States in South America and are among those with the smallest territories. Moreover, both are characterized by a highly complex and diverse ethno-cultural composition, by languages thet differ from all other South American countries and by one insertion toward the Caribbean and also to some extent for the former metropoles. These are countries still loosely connected with its neighbors and despite having great possibilities of production (especially in mineral and energy sectors), their economies are still rudimentary and lacking in infrastructure, transport and energy.

The conflict between the People’s Republic of China and the Holy See, which began in 1951 when the two countries broke off all diplomatic relations, continues to stir up numerous questions, in the international public opinion, about the reasons preventing both governments from overcoming the obstacles toward reconciliation. In this work, we analyze the relations between China and Vatican with the specific aim of clarifying the historical, political and religious events that led to the present situation of conflict.

Em sua teoria dos Ciclos Longos de Acumulação de Capital, Hegemonia e Dominação, reuniu de forma original explicações e teorias antes aparentemente inconciliáveis. Sua teoria produziu uma nova agenda de pesquisa, provavelmente muito maior do que o autor poderia imaginar quando se inseriu no debate teórico a respeito da crise hegemônica dos EUA. Sua herança intelectual motivou debates e novas reflexões entre os pesquisadores brasileiros e, certamente, será alvo de novas ponderações e reinterpretações no futuro...
