Purpose. To analyze an array of special scientific literature and summarize the obtained information on the commercial exploitation of the Kуiv reservoir as a fishery water body. To review main abiotic conditions of the reservoir, which exist and form the specificity of its commercial use by the fishery industry of Ukraine. To highlight the historical course of their impact on the fish fauna of the Kyiv Reservoir and general forecasts for its future transformations. Findings. An overview of scientific publications devoted to the specifics of commercial exploitation of the Kуiv reservoir as a fishery water body from the moment of its creation to the present day were presented. In particular, following was analyzed: hydrological regime, color and chemical composition of water, oxygen regime, accumulation of heavy metals, formation of bottom sediments and landscape. In addition, the radioecological situation in the reservoir was anazyed, both general and in three most significant areas for fisheries — in bottom sediments, macrophytes, and fish fauna. The literature data on the specificity of the above-mentioned abiotic factors in this reservoir, which form the hydro-ecological feature of this reservoir, were generalized. The main directions of their influence on the ichthyofauna of the Kуiv reservoir, which affect the possibility of its commercial exploitation, were described. The share of anthropogenic origin in the composition of the above-mentioned abiotic factors and the consequences of its impact were highlighted. The perspective ways of further development of the Kiev reservoir as a fishery water body of strategic importance for Ukraine were shown. Practical Value. The review may be useful for scientists, PhD students, students, government authorities, and private entrepreneurs involved in research process or exploatation of aquatic living resources in internal water bodies, primarily in the Kуiv reservoir.

Purpose. To study the possibility of obtaining highly productive intergeneric salmonid hybrids between rainbow trout and brook trout; brown trout and brook trout; rainbow trout and brown trout, as well as to develop methodological approaches and determine of optimal variants of hybrid crosses. Findings. In order to obtain intergeneric hybrids, we used six variants of hybrid crosses with brood fish of three salmonids belonging to three families (Salmo, Oncorhynhus, Salvelinus). The study used age-4 female rainbow trout with average body weight of 3296.8 g, Fork length was 62.6 cm, and the average working fecundity was 7420 eggs. Age-3 rainbow trout males had an average body weight of 1613 g and an average body length of 49.8 cm; age-3 brown trout females had an average body weight of 453.8 g and average working fecundity of 1540 eggs, and males had an average weight of 458.7 g; age-3 brook trout females had an average weight of 809.7 g and a length of 38.9 cm with working fecundity of 1732 eggs, and age-4 males had an average weight of 1212.8 g and an average body length of 46.0 cm. Twelve variants of fertilization were used: six variants at normal water temperature and six variants after a temperature shock. Under natural conditions, the creation of intergeneric hybrids is almost impossible, except for variants between brown trout and brook trout, which is due to the similarity of their biology. However, the efficiency of this cross is low and economically impractical for fish farmers. When applying the temperature shock during fertilization, hybrids proved to be the most effective, where females were rainbow trout, and males were brook trout and brown trout. The average weight of young-of-the-year intergeneric hybrids was, depending on the species of fish, from 8 to 54 g. The highest results were obtained for the creation of hybrids where following broodstock was used: ♂brook trout Х ♀brown trout; ♂brown trout Х ♀rainbow trout. In these variants of crossbreeding, the survival rate of young-of-the-year during the period of cultivation was 94.8 and 92.8%, respectively. In particular, the above hybrids did not suffer from infectious diseases during the growing period. Originality. New data on the development of methods for obtaining viable offspring of newly created hybrids were obtained, and the optimal variants of crossing between females and males of these salmonids were determined. Practical value. The results can be used for artificial breeding of salmonids in specialized farms that will allow obtaining high quality products and reducing their costs.

Purpose. To study the peculiarities of relationships between the aquatic environment and the extruded feed residues in the circulating aquaculture systems intended for growing Clarias gariepinus, and changes in the concentrations of inorganic nitrogen compounds and phosphorus phosphates. Methodology. The object of study is the quality of the aquatic environment when modeling the food load in accordance with feeding standards of different age groups of Cl. gariepinus. Water quality in experimental tanks was determined by analytical methods. Findings. It was found that the intake of extruded feed residues into the aquatic environment leads to a deterioration in its quality due to an increase in the concentration of compounds of inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus of phosphates, which negatively affects the vital activity of Cl. gariepinus. Nitrification processes are activated under conditions of sufficient dissolved oxygen content in the environment. The overload of the aquatic environment with organic matter promotes the bacterial transformation processes of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds, which are characterized by the predominance of the ammonification process and the suppression of oxidative processes. Upon completion of the mineralization of the excess organic matter, the appearance of a sufficient amount of dissolved oxygen activates ammonium oxidation and intensifies nitrification process. The leading factors in the ammonification and nitrification processes in an environment saturated with organic matter include the dissolved oxygen content, which regulates the activity ratio of anaerobic amonifying and aerobic nitrifying microflora. Optimum aeration in Cl. gariepinus cultivation systems is determined not only by the direct physiological needs of fish, but also by the need to maintain a sufficient content of dissolved oxygen to ensure nitrification processes. Originality. The study investigated the effect of the food load on the quality of aquatic environment in the circulating aquaculture systems for Cl. gariepinus rearing. Practical value. The study results can be used to optimize Cl. gariepinus growing methods in circulating aquaculture systems with adjustable parameters at high stocking densities.

Purpose. To study the functional status in the body of the common carp Cyprinus carpio (Linnaeus, 1758) after the addition of biologically active substances in feed composition as an adaptogene and corrector of metabolic processes including the antioxidant system, catalase activity in carp body. Methodology. The experimental part of the study was performed at the laboratory of the Scientific and Research Laboratory “Aquaculture Perspectives”, Scientific and Research Laboratory of “S. Pentelyuk Physiological and Biochemical Studies”, Scientific and Research Laboratory of Ecological and Chemical Analysis and Water Monitoring of the State Education Institution “Kherson State Agrarian and Economical University” and at the laboratory of the “Kherson Production and Experimental Hatchery of Ordinary Fish Breeding”. The duration of the experimental part was 30 days. During this period, visual observation of the fish was carried out, biological material was collected for the study in accordance with the current methods in fish farming. Cytological studies of blood were carried out on smears using Micromed MDC-500-5MP eyepiece camera. ThermoMix equipment was used to transport biological material to the laboratory. The hydrochemical parameters in tanks of the recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) were investigated by express methods (tests) with the corresponding recording of results in the work journal. The reaction and ethology of the common carp Cyprinus carpio to the light was carried out using digital equipment and a LDT test. Findings. The obtained results demonstrated the positive effect of the feed factor as an adaptogene and growth stimulator on the redistribution of metabolic energy in the carp body, which in turn had a stimulating effect on the development rate and improved the general functional status of the fish body. The paper presents the results of morpho-functional, biochemical parameters of carp blood in ontogenesis when grown in recirculating aquaculture systems against the background of the application of elements to improve technological aspects while improving the adaptive capabilities of the fish body. It was found that the feed factor, when introduced into the general economic ration, promoted an increase in the average carp body weight in the experimental group, improved the parameters of homeostatic equilibrium in comparison with fish in the control group. Positive results of a scientific and experimental study on the use of the additive as an adaptogene were obtained; it was studied with the aim of activating protective mechanisms, metabolic processes of aquatic organisms under constant or systematic exposure to stress factors of a technological nature. The study showed that the body weight, yield, total number of erythrocytes, hemoglobin content, total protein, and the level of catalase activity in the experimental groups of fish exceeded these parameters in the control group. The results obtained allowed noting the activation of the antioxidant system, the restructuring of physiological and biochemical processes, mobilization systems in the carp body in the experimental group. Originality. We found a correcting effect of the feed factor on metabolic processes, the adaptive capacity of the fish organism, as well as an increase in the resistance of the body as a whole. After implementing the technological scheme of cultivation of a feed factor of natural origin as an adaptogene against the background of the influence of technological stress factors, we found a correlation between the morpho-functional, biochemical parameters of carp blood and stress markers. Addition of biologically active substances of natural origin with a pronounced adaptive and correcting physiological and biochemical parameters into the general diet of carp improved the adaptive capacity. The antioxidant system was activated against the background of the action of technological factors. Practical value. The results of scientific and experimental studies of the functional status of carp body under the influence of technological factors were presented. Parameters of the development of carp in ontogenesis when growing in recirculating aquaculture systems against the background of the introduction of multilevel elements to improve technological aspects were studied. The results demonstrated the positive effect of biologically active substances invlufrf in the feed mixture, in particular, activation of the growth rate, increase in body weight, and yield.

Consider the basic principles of its forecasting, based on the current ecological state of this reservoir, which is of strategic importance for Ukraine. Findings. An overview of modern scientific publications devoted to the peculiarities of the commercial catch of white bream from the Kуiv reservoir, its forecasting and the prospects for using this species in fisheries is presented. The literature data on the specifics of industrial fishing in the Kуiv reservoir are summarized based on the ecological characteristics of this reservoir. The main factors influencing the adaptation of white bream populations to their commercial exploitation are described. The general directions of the impact of anthropogenic pressure on them and their consequences are considered. The prospects of using white bream as an economically valuable species are shown under the condition of rational industrial fishing in the Kуiv reservoir. Practical Value. The review can be useful for scientists, applicants, students, government authorities and private entrepreneurs involved in the process of research and commercial harvesting of living aquatic resources in reservoirs, namely in Kуiv reservoir.

Purpose. Investigate ecological conditions and determine fish productivity of ponds when growing young-of-the-year carp using a suspension of chlorella. Methodology. During the study, we used methods generally accepted in hydrochemistry, hydrobiology and fish farming. Findings. The article presents the results of the study on the use of chlorella suspension in the cultivation of carp. It was found that the use of chlorella suspension created favorable hydrochemical conditions resulting in intensive development of zooplankton, which had a positive effect on the growth of young-of-the-year carp and fish productivity of the pond. The development of the natural food supply was sufficient to meet the nutritional needs of juvenile carp. The average seasonal biomass of zooplankton in the experimental pond was 28.68 g/m3 that was 1.5 times higher than in the control. The share of cladocerans in the total biomass of zooplankton in the experimental pond was 76.6%, versus 36.8% in the control. The average biomass of zoobenthos for the growing season in the experimental was 1.3 times higher than in the control, and was formed by chironomid larvae, which are valuable in the food chain. Originality. The study investigated ecological conditions and fish productivity of growing ponds under conditions of the application of cattle manure and suspension of chlorella when growing carp in monoculture. Practical value. It was found that the use of chlorella suspension promotes the intensification of the development of zooplankton organisms in ponds. The obtained data can be used to develop practical recommendations for optimizing the conditions for growing carp seeds and increasing the biological productivity of ponds.

Purpose. Analysis of productive and economic indicators in the cultivation of age-1+ carp as a result of the use of prebiotics based on mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) in feeding. Methodology. Four ponds were used, two of which were experimental and two control ponds, which were stocked with age-1 scaly carp with an average weight of 76–77 g at a stocking density of 2200 specimens/ha. Fish of Experiment 1 and Control 1 were fed with extruded feed with a protein content of 23%, fish in Experiment 2 and Control 2 were fed with a grain mixture with a protein content of 19%. 0.05% prebiotic based on MOS "Actigen" was added to the diet of experimental groups of carp throughout the growing season. Optimal conditions for carp farming were ensured including control over oxygen, hydrochemical and hydrobiological regimes in ponds, which were measured according to the generally accepted methods in fish farming. Fishery and economic indicators of growing age-1+ were determined after harvesting fish in autumn. Findings. Major hydrochemical parameters in all ponds were within the normative values. The average seasonal biomass of forage organisms of zooplankton and zoobenthos during the growing season did not differ in the experimental ponds and amounted to 10.33-16.23 g/m3 and 1.23-2.96 g/m3. A positive effect of the use of prebiotics based on MOS in the feeding of age-1+ carp was established. When the prebiotic was given as a part of the extruded feed, the average weight of fish was higher by 11.5%, and fish productivity by 22.7% relative to the control group, while the cost of feed for cultivation was lower by 20%. When it was added to the grain mixture, these values were higher by 12.9%, 16.3% and 16.7%, respectively. The profit, as a result of the use of the prebiotic based on MOS in the composition of the extruded feed increased by 43.3% compared to Control 1, and by 19.1% compared to Control 2 when it was added to the grain mixture. Originality. For the first time, a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of the use of the prebiotic based on MOS in the composition of extruded feed and grain mixtures was performed taking into account productivity and economic indicators. Practical value. The obtained results indicate the feasibility and effectiveness of the use of prebiotics based on MOS in the feeding of age-1+ carp. Introduction of experimental additives to feeds of different composition helps to obtain additional growth and increase the economic component in the cultivation of carp to marketable condition.

Purpose: To analyze the specialized literature and summarize the information on the main parasitic diseases of whitefish. Findings: Whitefish are members of the Salmoniformes, which are currently represented by 3 subgroups (Salmonidae, Coregonidae, Thymallidae). Whitefishes are widespread species of fish in the subarctic and boreal zones of Europe, Asia and North America and are the most important components of the ecological system and valuable objects of local and industrial fishery. But these fishes are frequently affected by parasitic diseases. This article contains the description of most common parasitic diseases of whitefish and of the main causative agent, clinical signs of diseases, and the main preventive measures to prevent the occurrence of these diseases in whitefish culture. Aquaculture of whitefish creates a competitive food production for one or two fattening seasons with their delicacy gastronomic benefits and high economic profitability. Products of whitefish are popular on external markets that is also a good motivation for improvement of the biotechnological development for various methods of cultivation of these valuable fish. However, with increasing amounts of production, transporting fish from one farm to another and crowded stocks of fish result in problems with diseases of different etiology. The above material describes main parasitic diseases that occur in whitefish including their main symptoms, which will help to identify them in time. Practical value. Information on the main parasitic diseases of whitefish was systematized. Most of the parasitic diseases known to the whitefish are ectoparasitosis. These are ichthyobodosis (costosis), trichodinosis, chylodonelosis, ichthioftirioz, trichophthirioz and cruciformis. Proteocephalosis, acanthocephalosis, diplomystomosis are the most dangerous among helminths. The short characteristic of these diseases is described and the methods of prophylaxis of these diseases are suggested. The review can be useful both for scientists dealing with the problem of whitefish acclimatization on the territory of Ukraine and for fish breeders already engaged in the whitefish aquaculture in Ukraine and abroad. Descriptions of symptoms of diseases will be useful for preliminary diagnostics of diseases.

Purpose. To analyze the existing experience in quantitative and qualitative modelling of commercial fish harvesting and to develop the methodological approaches in determining the optimal catch parameters for gillnets. Methodology. An adjusted annual commercial mortality rate was used to determine the catches composition in gillnets with different mesh sizes. Findings. The proposed model was developed within the framework of the generally accepted concept of population dynamics and biomass as a result of mortality and weight growth. It showed the dependence of the size-age structure and total weight of the catch on the mesh size of the grids. Originality of the work was caused by using the mathematical model that can ensure sustainable use of nature based on the optimal parameters of shutter grids on the possibility of their effective removal of certain age groups of white bream for the first time. Practical Value: calculations performed according to this model for the white bream of the Kyiv Reservoir showed that it is optimal to use grids with a mesh step of 40-50 mm, which allow to obtain the maximum catch per unit of replenishment and ensure high population fertility.

Purpose. Rearing of the European eel (Anguilla anguilla) is a promising area of aquaculture, the development of which in Ukraine and the world is constrained by several factors. Spawning, egg incubation, lack of a stable source of supply of fish seeds – these and other problems, as well as the importance of such studies form a basis for finding approaches for their solution and conducting new large-scale studies. This area attracts attention of scientists, there are certain results and achievements; however, they are still not enough to solve the problems of artificial reproduction of the European eel. Findings. The authors revised, analysed and systematized literature sources focused on the study of the European eel. As a result, it was possible to identify the main achievements and shortcomings in this area, which are promising for further study. In addition, we identified some obstacles faced by scientists and analysed available methods for their solving. Practical value. This review can be used to stimulate new studies and technological development towards industrial cultivation of eel in Ukraine, which will allow reducing the impact on natural populations of this species and stabilize its number in the natural environment. In addition, the authors of the article intend to draw attention of scientists and manufacturers to the perspectives and problems of growing and studying the European eel.

Purpose. To analyze data of available specialized literature and summarize the information obtained on the use of probiotics in modern aquaculture. To review basic principles of classification of existing probiotics, methods of their introduction into the aquatic organisms and mechanisms of action of different probiotic groups. Findings. The analysis of scientific publications on the use of probiotics in aquaculture for efficient farming in order to reduce fish and shrimp mortality and, accordingly, increase the efficiency of farms has been provided. The literature data on the classification of probiotics depending on the composition and purpose are summarized. Modern and general ideas about the microbiota of aquaculture species are described. The actual ways of probiotic administration into the aquatic organisms are given. The main concepts of mechanisms and results of probiotics action on the host (suppression of pathogenic microflora, improving the quality of the aquatic environment, competition for localization and nutrients, providing the animal with immunostimulants, digestive enzymes and other biologically active substances). The prospects of using probiotics as an alternative to antimicrobial drugs and chemical remedies in aquaculture are shown. Practical value. The review may be useful for scientists investigating alternative treatments of aquaculture objects and the interaction of aquatic organisms with probiotics.

Purpose. Forming a thematic bibliographic list of publications on the morphological, ecological, physiological and biochemical characteristics of white bream (Blicca bjoerkna L.), as well as the state of its stocks in natural reservoirs. Methodology. Complete and selective methods were applied in the process of the systematic search. The bibliographic core have been formed with the publications exclusively in Ukrainian and Russian from the fund of scientific library of the Institute of Fisheries NAAS of Ukraine. Findings. A thematic list of publications with a total quantity of 62 sources covering the time interval from 1960 to 2020, and highlighting ecological characteristics of a member of Cyprinidae family, the white bream, as well as considering the state of its populations has been composed. The literary sources were arranged in alphabetical order by author or title, and described according to DSTU 8302:2015 “Information and documentation. Bibliographic reference. General principles and rules of composition”, with the amendments (code UKND 01.140.40), as well as in accordance with the requirements of APA style — international standard of references. Practical value. The list may be useful for scientists, practitioners, students, whose area of interests includes the study of physiological, biochemical, ecological and other characteristics of Cyprinids, in particular white bream (Blicca bjoerkna L.).

Purpose. To study the effect of the feed factor on the functional state of the carp body (Cyprinus carpio L.) under the conditions of growing in a model recirculation system of complex purpose with the use of intensive technologies. Methodology. The experimental part of the study was performed at the laboratory of the Scientific and Research Lab “Aquaculture Perspectives”, Scientific and Research Laboratory of “Physiological and Biochemical Studies named after S. Pentelyuk”, Scientific and Research Laboratory of Ecological and Chemical Analysis and Water Monitoring of the State Education Institution “Kherson State Agrarian and Economical University” and at the laboratory of the “Kherson Production and Experimental Hatchery of Ordinary Fish Breeding”. Carp growing was carried out in the model installation of tanks recirculation type with using intensive technologies, alternative energy sources, method of gas-discharge visualization. During the experiment following was performed: clinical examination of fish, control of growth rate and weight gain, survival rate, physiological state and morpho-functional parameters of blood in accordance with conventional methods. Findings. The general functional state of the organism of the common carp Cyprinus carpio L. in ontogenesis was investigated against the background of activation of adaptive-compensatory mechanisms, metabolic processes under the influence of the food factor under rearing conditions in a model system for complex purposes in aquaculture. Positive results of analysis of morpho-functional, biochemical parameters of carp blood were obtained when feeding with a feed mixture from natural fodder and biologically active substances. The degree of influence of the fodder factor as a corrector of metabolic processes in the carp organism when growing the marketable mass has been studied. Originality. The conducted analysis of gas-discharge visualization of static GDV-gram parameters of optoelectronic emission of young-of-the-year carp showed differences in functional activity in the organism of fish from the experimental group in relation to the control group, which was also substantiated and argumentative by the parameters of carp blood and development rate. Practical value. The proposed method of feeding carp in the recirculation system contributes to the correction of metabolic processes in their body, which makes it possible to reduce the cost through the use of natural feed, the cultivation of which is introduced into the recirculation system, the formation of a mixture of our own production, using the GDV-method diagnostics of objects and energy-saving elements in technological map.

urpose. Tosubstantiate scientifically and improve the technology of producing table caviar from ovulated sterlet eggs, which ensures the preservation of natural biologically active compounds and the stability of quality parameters. To investigate table caviar for microbiological, toxicological and toxico-biological safety. To determine the prospect of using the data in the practice of caviar sturgeon breeding. Methodology. Primary materials were obtained in the conditions of «Oasis Bisan» JSC. The results obtained were processed by organoleptic, biochemical, microbiological, toxicological, toxic-biological methods, as well as by the method of variation statistics using MS Excel with an emphasis on standard errors. Findings. Application of the heat treatment mode (78°C) of ovulated sterlet eggs while reducing the total time of the technological process to 1.0 minute contributes to the preservation of the integrity of food product components. Sterlet eggs from recirculated aquaculture system differed from a similar product from fish from natural waters by a lower mineral content (by 1.2%), an increased content of dry matter (by 8.1%), protein (by 7.5%) and lipids (by 3.7%). This fact indicates a decrease in the water content of the product and the acquisition of optimal gastronomic qualities. Sterlet caviar proteins were found to contain a full set of essential amino acids, the chemical score of which exceeded 100%; no limiting amino acids were found. Comparative analysis of sterlet caviar from recirculated aquaculture systems and from natural habitats showed the absence of significant differences in the amino acid composition, which demonstrated the biological value of the product. The use of the mode of short-term high-temperature heat treatment allows ensuring sufficient safety of the food product. The absence of E. coli and yeast in caviar was found. Pb, Cd, As and Hg contents in sterlet caviar were significantly lower than the maximum permissible levels. The total value of hexachloran and isomers was 0,0027mg/kg; DDT and metabolites – 0,016 mg/kg, polychlorinated biphenyls – 0,017 mg/kg and corresponded to permissible limits. The absence of altered forms, growth inhibition or death of tetrachimens confirms the toxicological safety of the finished product. The shelf life of the finished product without preservative is 6 months at a storage temperature of minus 2°C – minus 4°C, which parametrically meets the requirements of TU U 10.2-37758242-002: 2018. Originality. The technology of processing ovulated sterlet caviar has been scientifically substantiated and experimentally tested. New data on the comparison of the results of classical pasteurization and short-term high-temperature heat treatment of caviar are presented. For the first time, the amino acid composition of sterlet caviar was studied under conditions of recirculated aquaculture systems, and the analysis of grainy caviar for hexachloran and isomers, DDT and metabolites, and polychlorinated biphenyls was carried out. Information on the chemical composition of caviar in the process of technological processing was clarified and supplemented. Practical value. The advantage of the improved technology of processing raw caviar over the classical method of pasteurization was determined. The expediency of using an alternative technology in order to save energy and preserve traditional organoleptic properties, nutritional value and safety of the finished product were experimentally confirmed. On the basis of the results of the studies carried out, the technical documentation of TU «Technological instruction for the production of granular sturgeon caviar» and «Working instruction for the selection of caviar» were developed and agreed in accordance with the established procedure with the bodies and institutions of the State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance and the State Standard. The developed technology was tested in the development of pilot batches of food sterlet caviar, which made it possible at the «Oasis Bisan» enterprise to introduce a food safety management system and conduct a certification audit by the International certification body TUV SUD for compliance with the International standard ISO 22000: 2005. Commission, the «Oasis Bisan» enterprise received an EU registration number: a-UA-14-20-121-VIII-PP, in connection with which it has the right to export products (sturgeon caviar) to the countries of the European Union.

Purpose. To provide a comparative analysis of fisheries and biological parameters of young-of-the-year wild carp-domestic carp hybrids obtained from males of different genetic origin by natural spawning method, with subsequent use in industrial hybridization. Methodology. Cultivation was carried out in pond conditions of the Lviv Research Station of the Institute of Fisheries of NAAS. Material for the study were young-of-the-year wild carp-domestic carp hybrids obtained from age-8 and 9 males of Amur wild carp of different genesis. Stocking density of 4-day larvae in nursery ponds was 20 thousand ind./ha. Growth rate was evaluated by using absolute, relative, daily and specific growth rate according to I.I. Schmalhausen. Feeding of fish was carried out with ground grain, starting from the first decade of July. Statistical processing of the material was performed in Microsoft Excel 2016. Criteria for the analysis of parameters were their average value and arithmetic mean error (M ± m). Findings. According to performed studies, young-of-the-year wild carp-domestic carp hybrids obtained from Amur wild carp males of different genesis in terms of dynamics of weight accumulation and linear growth, survival, fish productivity, hybrids obtained from cryo-males were not inferior to young-of-the-year wild carp-domestic carp obtained from local males. However, according to the main body-build indices, they had similar values but were slightly inferior. Originality. For the first time in Ukraine, a comparative analysis of fisheries and biological parameters of young-of-the-year wild carp-domestic carp hybrids obtained from males of different genetic origin in terms of industrial hybridization was performed. Practical value. The results of this work will provide a comprehensive assessment of fish and biological parameters of young-of-the-year wild carp-domestic carp hybrids obtained from Amur wild carp males of different genetic origin and justify their use in breeding work for further reproduction in breeding farms and to obtain industrial hybrids.

Purpose. Qualitative study of fillets of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.)fed with natural powder of water fern (Azollafiliculoides) and comparison with previous studies. Methodology. The proximate composition of the samples of fish fillets was done: protein content through Kjeldahl method, lipid content was determined according to AOAC (Association of Official Analytical Chemists) official method.Sensory evaluations were done by panelists. Methods for determining water holding capacity, cooking losses and biochemical analysis were standard, accepted in the world scientific community. Findings. Dissimilarities in the composition of proteins and fats were revealed. There was a significant difference in water holding capacity, cooking losses and biochemical analysis results. According to research, the powder of water fern is recommended for use in the feeding of carp, in order to improve the quality of its fillets. Originality. In recent years, a significant amount of research has focused on the use of plants or their extracts in fish nutrition, due to the presence of antioxidants in them. Water fern powder is one of the cheapest dietary supplements, which can be used in aquaculture to reduced spending on cultivation, contemporaneously improving fish health. This is due to the fact that these aquatic plants are widespread in water bodies of most warm countries and contain many important antioxidants that can positively affect the quality of fish fillets. Practical value. Based on the data obtained, a method for improving the quality of carp fillets has been developed. So, using water fern powder in its feeding, it is possible to improve the biochemical composition, increase taste, reduce losses during cooking, and also adjust the ability to retain water. Therefore, the proposed diet is also very useful for processing aquaculture products.

Purpose. Forming a thematic bibliographic list of publications on the morphological, ecological, physiological and biochemical characteristics of the tench (Tinca tinca L.), its cultivation and the state of its stocks in natural water bodies. Methodology. The complete and selective methods were applied in the process of the systematic search. The bibliographic core has been formed with the publications exclusively in Ukrainian and Russian from the fund of scientific library of the Institute of Fisheries NAAS of Ukraine. Practical value. The list may be useful for scientists, practitioners, students, whose area of interests includes the study of physiological, biochemical, ecological and other characteristics of cyprinids, in particular tench, as well as the restoration of its stocks.
