The notion of cooperation in wireless communication has got significant attention from both academia and industrial persons towards to address the performance drawbacks of wireless sensor network due to reason of user’s high mobility and lack of resources of network. The future wireless systems should be highly heterogeneous and interconnected because motivating cooperative relaying has to apply on the future mobile network for efficient results and future demand. As currently the mobile computing is facing latency and battery drainage issues which need to address and solve hence in this work we are proposed mobile-centric and opportunistic communication architecture. In this work mobile devices which are in the range of Wi-Fi of each other can create cluster with each other and can create an ad-hoc cooperative cloud using Relay Spot[1-4]. The Collaboration between these devices can enable them to resourcefully use the augmentation without any infrastructure.

Educational institutions seek for innovative strategies to counter the long- fought problem of low students’ performance in mathematics. Several studies conducted had revealed that a good foundation on basic mathematical concepts increases the numeracy rate of countries. Hence, it is essential to develop programs that will address the mathematical needs of students. This descriptiveevaluative study assesses the effectiveness of the extension program Math Proficiency Sessions (MPS) for Primary Pupils of Sorsogon State College- Senior High School Program. The DepEd validated competency-based pre- tests and post- tests for Grades 1 to 3 were utilized as the main instrument of this research. Statistical tools used were mean, standard deviation, percentage and t- test. Findings showed that primary pupils’ proficiency was at the beginning level prior to the implementation of the program. Approaching proficiency level was attained after the conduct of the math proficiency sessions. The study revealed further that there was a significant difference between the results of the Pre- test and the Posttest. Thus, the research concludes that the conduct of the extension program Math Proficiency Sessions (MPS) for Primary Pupils was an effective approach in improving the mathematics performance of pupils. Therefore, the adoption of the program in other communities is highly recommended.

This study determined the stakeholders’ level of satisfaction and effectiveness of the implementation of the operations manual, the organizational structure and the implementation of Binalatongan Community College services. The study employed the descriptive method of research and used descriptive statistics: frequency counts and weighted average means to quantify the raw data. This study found that the administrators were highly satisfied in the implementation of the operations manual except for Curriculum Program which was moderately satisfied. The faculty members were satisfied in the implementation of policies on student affairs, physical plant and facilities and curriculum programs. However, the students were fairly satisfied on the physical plant and facilities while moderately satisfied on academic and student affairs, and curriculum program implementation. The community people were moderately satisfied on student affairs, physical and facilities, and curriculum programs while fairly satisfied on academic affairs implementation. Furthermore, all the stakeholders agreed that the Operations manual implementation is moderately effective.

This study uncovered the Experiences of Homeless Street People in Sorsogon City, Philippines. The research participants were four homeless street people in Sorsogon City of different ages and genders. This study utilized the qualitative-narrative method of research and used coding in analysing the data. The data revealed that the homeless street people in Sorsogon City vary in age, gender, educational attainment and manner of livelihood. Each of them has different reasons why they are homeless but it was found out that they are street people because of their livelihood. They also experience challenges and risks in their security, health and livelihood. Moreover, they have their own reasons of accepting or refusing the opportunities offered to most of them. Most of them receive assistance from non-government and private organizations, and private individuals more than from the local government. These findings have led to the proposal of a Creative Non-fiction which served as the output of this study.

This explanatory study focused on the ecotourism project in Buhatan, Sorsogon, Philippines. It highlighted the potentials of ecotourism as a developmental tool for biodiversity conservation, economic, and social development. It sought to determine the implications of having ecotourism, who or what sector(s) would best benefit from ecotourism and what are the things needed to be done to maximize the potentials of ecotourism. While qualitative design was employed, triangulation was used to reduce the risk of bias and inaccuracies the analysis of data. Findings revealed the common implications of ecotourism in Buhatan such as job opportunities, fostering cooperation, balanced economic and environmental activities, discipline and inter-sector linkages which profits most the boatmen, culinary group members and cooperative. The study concluded that the ecotourism in Buhatan has a potential in promoting economic and social development, and environmental conservation could benefit the community as a whole if private-public sector linkages and active participation of the community members are improved. It was recommended to include the tourists‟ perception about the ecotourism project in the data gathering procedure since it would provide useful insights on the implications of ecotourism to its target clients

Breakthroughs in information and communication technology continue to revolutionize the educational system. As a global citizen, the learner must be properly equipped with the knowledge and skills, attitudes and values necessary to cope with the changes. Since the buzz for educational transformation is life-long learning, it is the task of the teacher to develop among the youth, the 21st century skills. The researcher strongly believes that these skills include critical viewing skills. Hence, this study determined the viewing skills of 30 sophomore Bachelor of Education major in English in one state university in the Philippines using the descriptive method. Data gathered were subjected to statistical analysis using frequency and percentage, mean and F-test at 0.05 level of significance. Most of the respondents have televisions at home and watch TV one hour a day; majority watch news, documentary shows and “teleserye”; have excellent viewing skills along sequencing events, while good viewing skills along getting the main idea, identifying the theme and sensing character traits. Sensing character traits has a significant difference with the availability of multimedia materials at home. As a result of this educational venture, enrichment activities focused in enhancing viewing skills were developed.

A youth is expected to experience difficulties due to the opposing desire to be free while still remaining dependent to family and other significant individuals in their lives. Filipino youth are known as being family-oriented and being submissive which is one of the factors that pounds the importance of what people around them utters. Thus, creating a gap or discrepancy between what they truly want and what other people expect them to do. When these internal battles began, significant external aspects such as social interaction can be compromised. These occurrences can be elucidated by using the two frameworks Self-Discrepancy Theory and Attachment Style. In this study, correlational research design and survey method were employed to 384 Filipino Youth from Makati whom are selected through convenience sampling. Results of the study showed that the respondents have positive image of themselves. Also, a big majority of the respondents were discerned to have high discrepancies between their self-states. In this study, it was also seen that the respondents were dismissive and were characterized to be independent, self-reliant, and gave low importance to relationships. Finally, findings of this study revealed a weak positive correlation between secure attachment style towards the selfdiscrepancy of the respondents while weak negative correlation was found between the rest of the attachment styles towards the discrepancy among their self-states. With this, the researchers recommended stabilizing internal discrepancies and strengthening significant relationships as the two were seen as big factors in respondents’ social interaction and self-esteem.

–Grounded on the need for higher education institutions to promote and practice knowledge management and research culture through technology, the present study reports the development of a web-based research portal in one government-owned university. To address the objectives of designing, developing, and evaluating the research portal, the study implemented three phases: Phase 1 focused on the planning and designing of the research portal; phase 2 involved the development and try-out of the research portal; and phase 3 refers to the evaluation of the research portal. The output of the design and development phases is a web-based research portal that has automated features on research procedures, publication processes, database management, and research dissemination and utilization. The results of the quantitative part of the evaluation phase indicate that the research portal has high to excellent quality in terms of the following features: construction and features; design and aesthetics; completeness; accuracy; functionality; usefulness; and user-friendliness. The high to excellent rating may be sourced from the novelty of the program, but the platform’s user-friendly features encouraged users of all ages, to make their research activities more manageable and more efficient. Qualitative comments from the evaluation of the portal supported the quantitative results although certain limitations were identified for the enhancement of the research portal. Researchers recommend that the web-based research portal be fully operational and be made accessible to various stakeholders while continually monitoring, evaluating, and enhancing its design and features.
