Dr. Ambedkar was one of the greatest personality of 20th century, born in India. He was determined
fighter and a deep scholar who made significant efforts to lead the society on the path of liberty,
equality, and fraternity. He was the first Indian to break down the barriers in the way of advancement
of women in India. His life was a great saga of suffering, sacrifice, and struggle. His life was a great
struggle for the welfare of backward people of the society. He was a great thinker of women and their
rights. Being a pioneer of social justice, he always worked for the women emancipation. So Dr.B.R
Ambedkar introduced the revolutionary measure in the constituent assembly in 1950’s i.e The Hindu
Code Bill. The principal aim of the bill was to broaden the freedom of the individual and the equality
of men and women. The bill mainly covered right to property, the order of succession to the property
and maintenance, marriage, divorce, adoption, minority, and guardianship. The tenets of the bill were
in harmony with the constitutional philosophy of men and women. Ambedkar's principal aim was to
build up a society based on social justice. He also tried an adequate inclusion of women's right in the
political vocabulary and constitution of India.
